yeah man. to me the whole "punk" thing was more an attitude than the music. there's a lot more people playing stuff like Lightning Bolt or IDM stuff that are taking a way more "fuck it, DYI, who cares if we make money" aesthetic to it than the genre of punk music. i never had anything against Green Day. growing up in the Bay Yarea we saw them all the time before they blew up. i actually liked that they got their money and fame. they held out till they got the deal they wanted. good for them.

but most "punk" stuff since then...... mehhhh. no thanks.

on a personal note, i can now poop again. since i contracted a freaking hantavirus or something last week my bathroom excursions dropped from an average of 3 or 5 times a day to once every day or three. my bowels, and my reading habits, were saddened. thank god THAT'S over!

exFUCKINGzactly. i love music, even if it's not stuff i'm way into, that you can tell they were like, "homie. i just wanted to make this shit to make this shit. it's SO not going to be in the back of a Nike commercial. and i'm ok with that". if you make your ends doing commercial work and you keep your soul good for you. but being at a place right now, where people can put out just what they want to because they want to make it? sure there's a lot of shit out there. but some crazy good stuff makes it's way through too.
