I figured it was either broken, or my Atomic Amplifire was excessively amplifying unwanted noise again (as it has with a hollow bodied guitar and at least 2 fuzzes). I was actually hoping the Harmonic Decoder would be somewhere in the ballpark of a Tim Escobedo Uglyface (my favorite oscillosynth fuzz effect), but, apparently, it's a different animal in many respects.
Yup, very different than the ugly face. I have two of those too. The uglyface is way more fun...the harmonic decoder really feels like it is the part of something instead of fully complete...it is just missing something.

I do quite like them. They do cool things with resonance; and more importantly, they are out of the norm. So it kinda makes you think about the sound a little differently, which I like. They are good for creating a sort of head underwater sound. Give one a try if you get a chance, the LAL resale market tends to be pretty good (sometimes they sell for more than the readily available new ones

).
Also look into the
Pladask Romferd. I've never tried it, but some people have said it's like what they wanted the misty cave to be.

two output expression pedal, does that count?
I would also gladly take a second Kill Kill Filter, and definitely a second Space Echo.
I think it's fun to have 2 of the same in parallel chains. Set similarly, you can get a fuller different flavor of the same sound. Set them differently you get drastically different sounds that fit well in the same house.

You can tell which one is me because I wear the pants better.

There's nothing else quite like it. Last time I played with one was probably 15 years ago, and that was only for one brief recording session. Extremely happy to have one of my own now...
And yes, all of my plans to recover this cab and put it back to "as close to original as possible" are out now...

They pop up fairly often actually. Rad sounding pedal. I just usually rather buy something new with that money. Unless I find a steal of course.
