back when i lived on the Southwest Side of Chicago i lived in a Lithuanian neighborhood. the Lugens, as their self-abbreviation had it, were very house-proud and would dispose of furniture, carpets, etc. that were a bit worn on e.g. the arms of upholstered chairs. i swear that i furnished entire apartments from the stuff those folks put out in the alley on Large Item Pickup Day.

I have had a really good day. Great weather. Had fun playing golf with my dad. Started drinking rum. Played guitar for hours.

Just played guitar for a few hours and now my dad and I are listening to Santana's Woodstock performance.

He's telling me about how awesome Santana was back in the day. Life is good.
