For reference, she HATED beer when we first met, because she had basically only tried Bud and shit like that. Guinness was how I introduced her to good beer, and stouts have always been her favorite, but she's never really been into the extreme beers, i.e. imperials, dubbels, tripels, etc. But it was cold out and she asked me to order her a good stout. I ordered her a Founders Breakfast Stout, and I got the BCBS. She ended up loving both beers, and now I'm psyched because I can start getting her to try a bunch of the other Russian Imperials and stuff like that.

My girlfriends the same way. I started dating her and she didn't like beer. Now she loves sours, sweeter beers (stouts, porters, etc), and other ones that she wouldn't have touched with a 40ft pole before I met her. She doesn't like bitter beers such as IPA's so much, and the boozier beers I end up drinking more of, but she still at least try's all the beers I get. It's been fun haha!

Got some Celebration and a Lucky Bastard for tonight. Celebration is so fucking good its almost criminal.

That's awesome Bigchief.

My fiancee was the same, didn't like a lot of beer when we met, and then she got more adventurous as we dated. She's not big on a lot of IPAs/APAs but she likes the super aromatic, tropical ones like Zombie Dust. But she LOVES sours and brett beers now, stuff like Wicked Weed and Prairie are her jam.

I need to get my hands on some Celebration this year. It's always so good.

Nice! I just had a Velvet Merlin while playing Clue with my kid and eating chili. That was a pretty good night right there.

It was really good! Perhaps a little bitter (have to get the right time in the press), but once it warmed a little it blended nicely.

So my local best liquor store just added a bunch of new beers. I'm going to be so poor very soon...

Btw, that Evil Twin? Smoothest high abv (12%) imperial stout I think I've ever had. It's like velvet.

I'll be cracking into a Christmas Bomb probably tomorrow night. Looking forward to it. And my friend is in OK for Thanksgiving, he's bringing back a couple regular Bomb for me. So good.

Southern tier brewing company 2Xmas the last few days
Very confused on this beer
Can't tell if it supposed to taste like cough syrup or not,
apparently it is brewed like a swedish Glaagg?????????? What???

anyway tried it at fridge temp, then a little warmer, gonna let it get warmer tonight

feel like this is one of those, warmer is better beers

since I think a Glaag is a warm spiced wine,

Went to Nikki's in Providence today and got this haul. The Duchesse de Bourgogne almost made me do a backflip, because it's one of my top 3 beers on earth and hadn't seen it in a store in about 2 years. The Uerige is another one of my personal top 10. The BCBS is a vintage bottle from 2012.

Ever tried Liefmans Goudenband?
I think you might like that one as well since it's similar to Duchesse and it's amongst my most favourite standard Belgian beers:
Gouden Carolus Classic, Karmeliet Tripel, Liefmans Goudenband, Scheldebrouwerij Strandgaper, Urthel Saisonniere

Nope, never seen one over here. Do you know if they export it to the US?

Excellent, looks like they have it at Natty Greene's, which is the next town over from me. I'll go hunt for it. Thanks for the heads up!
