i just go lo-fi with my iphone or ipad, all of my recording equipment is in the analogue domain. the trick was finding the perfect distance from the speaker to get a loud signal with as little clipping as possible, like 12 feet away from a 15 watt vox ac15 set to normal playing volume. I play seated at a table anyways so setting up my pedals vertically and sitting on the floor and tweaking while playing just made sense, plus i couldn't figure out another way to set up my phone etc.

i'm not trying to sell pedals so its good enough for ilf

Picked up a kompakt kassette and octave drone in Japan last night. Thanks for the heads up about Gizmo, UC. Should be here in 2-3weeks maybe.
The two "demos" I have made were with a tripod I got a yard sale, a cheap nikon point and shoot, and two c-clamps. It can't handle the (indoor) light and the mic or something is pointed in a direction that it picks up footsteps and breathing (which is weird because I usually play the beta lead pretty loud). I don't recommend those little point and shoot cameras.

Which enclosure on the Octave Drone? Love that pedal. I could start a noise punk rock band just to use that all the time on 1 of 2 amps.

I don't know. The demos of thing have been so darn impressive, I had to get one. It's coming from Japan. The one in the picture looked like UC's but there was a note that said it may look like the newer stuff Rhys is doing. On a side note, I got my shipping notice from Rhys today for the kompact kassette!

Would probably fit the standard smaller enclosure, but I suppose it would be very redundant. On the site it shows that at least one of the mind warp models were in the kassette sized enclosure
thanks for the gutshot brandsmannen. if you are able to take a good one of the board i would be very interested to see what he's using re ICs etc. my feeling is that these are tweaked 'known' circuits so would be interesting to get a close up look at any of his pcbs to see what is going on. as production is sporadic (at best) this might be a way to work out what 'the next best thing' is to use while people wait, or for those who can't/don't want to wait.
to extend that out, if anyone out there has any of the seppukus that they feel like taking good gut shots of, am sure i'm not the only one here who is curious about seeing the pcbs. many thanks in advance to anyone who can.

i just thanked you on there for them yesterday. you do beautiful guts.
re the space fuzz circuit, could be related to lots of things. am thinking escobedo's tripple fuzz in front of gus smalley's octave up sick box, or a mutant version of culturejam's what the fuzz, which is a 386 octave thing. am curious...

I'll see if I have a better pic in the archives, but otherwise you have to ask UglyCasanova about this particular mind warp. I do have my memory loss (best pedal ever IMO) which I can post gut shots from

i'd definitely be up for seeing decent pcb shots of any of the memory kassette type seppukus. 'gone fission' here is also pretty into the memory things, so by all means kill two birds.
re your memory loss (what memory loss?), i've been wondering how closely it compares to doug's (mid-fi's) clari-not. they seem to have a common base. have you opinions about both?
