I'm sorry for your loss, cosmicevan. I've been lucky in that I live in a low-risk area (essentially in the country, although near downtown/the doctor's office) but I worry about my grandpa, who's in a care facility. It sucks not being able to visit.

Feel free to be jealous of me, I am one of those who have lived alone for decades and am unemployed (actually recently early retired on account of autism). But we both presumably know that it does no good to envy your fellow man. I rarely feel bored or lonely and at this point couldn't imagine having a family unless it was a musical or animal one. I honestly don't know how people do it but hats off to you, hang in there.

This whole situation is weird in that now many people are forced to live more like how I do (at least if they live alone), where they have contact with a very limited number of people and ostensibly start to see grocery store clerks and health workers as some of the most important people in society, who take care of people's most basic needs day in and out. I'm by far not the worst off, though. Just hope this will be over soon so that not more people, who are less prepared/suited for it will have to live like me. It is a very comforting thought that life goes on even if I'm not really a part of it, but this modern society is also fragile, which we can all see now.

Objectively, they are, yet we offer them the same thoughts and prayers that we puke up for people senselessly massacred.

hey look, I shouldn't complain. I'm extremely blessed and I see the MANY silver linings of this whole thing. There is much good from this that is not lost on me, but it just came so suddenly and aggressively and without remorse and the leadership is nonsense and they continue to screw it up when we can beat this if we all just chill and listen to the experts. And much like my shock about sandy hook deniers, 911 conspiracy theoriests, etc...there are still those out there who think this is a hoax or some coverup around 5G internet and some Bill Gates miscrochipping nonsense. I guess, how can we really expect everyone to get it when there is a bonafide movement out there of "flat earthers"

But yeah, I'm blessed to have a (what I hope to be) secure job in an industry that can thrive through this...healthy kids, and a wife who is furlowed and will probably end up making more on unemployment than she was making while working. I will not bitch when there are people with some real problems and w the protests and states getting ready to open, I'm not a religious man, but I'm praying for some of you out there in the wild west. Thankful to have Cuomo calling the shots for my state.

Sorry for your losses guys, seeing all those situation make me just feel thankful that my parents have recovered/are recovering.
Came here just to rant a bit because the last days have been quite hard, after almost 2 months of lockdown i'm lacking of ideas to entertain my daughter in our small apartment, she's becoming nervous and we are too, in addition the amount of work is becoming more and more each day we get close to the official "reopening" of productions sites (now set for may 4th) and, even if i get to go to the office once a week, being stuck at home is becoming even more unbearable now that the days are sunny an with the perfect temperature for hiking. The fact that i almost can't play music here donesn't help too, even more considering i have plenty of ideas and i'm not able to record any of those in a decent way.
I realize real problems are others, but everything is just becoming more and more boring.

:grumpy:

I feel like people are getting a little crazier as time goes on. Like I'm out the other day (I'm in a mask and gloves and hospital ID out doing my fucking job) and there's this old man yelling (barking?) "SIX FEET SIX FEET SIX FEET" at anyone that walks near him but meanwhile the guy is standing in the middle of the sidewalk where no one can get around him. Like motherfucker STAY HOME rather than yelling at people!! This is just one example, I'm seeing people definitely get a little squirrely.

I did get to bypass the line at my grocery store due to working in a hospital though. Not gonna lie, that was rad as the wait an hour. And McDonalds is giving free coffees to frontline healthcare workers. It's a tiny perk for all the risks  .

Also the roads are totally empty but the police have announced zero tolerance for speeding/road racing and every day people are out driving around like they're in the fucking Road Warrior. I'm not some old timey Sunday driver but the amount of aggressive driving I've seen has gone through the roof even though cars are on the road 80% less.

My wife is upstairs on a zoom (while I am downstairs exploring outward v2 :yay:

...and one of her friends husbands had a pretty bad case of coved so he got on and they were asking questions. He said basically his fever was so bad that at night he couldn’t sleep cause he really felt like he wasn’t going to wake up. He said he could barely move and all food tasted like nothing...like sour...and no smell.

I am starting to waver on if we all had it before we knew about it now based on some news coming out about it being here earlier. My daughter had a mystery illness that had all the right signs on March 10th...and the. We had a weird stomach bug that came w chest pains pass throuugh the house. Who knows...either way our strategy of not getting it remains. That and now I have a blooper on the way to me :idk:

Tennessee is gonna stay the course on opening Friday, even though we had the biggest one day jump of infection in the state so far. As much as I'd love to go back to work, my happy ass is gonna stay home.
