IN STERE-ARI-ARI-O in stereo
[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/robpaper/vaz-modular-test[/soundcloud]
a really big bang for your buck here and its a totally viable system for every style of music. the software is called VAZ and right now I'm using it in standalone but there is a VSTi as well. reaktor is probably better but I dont want to spend 8 days making one patch and doing layouts. this was done very quick. I have MAX/MSP but dont really use that either.

My keys - Moog Opus 3, bought in 1995 for the princely sum of two hundred bucks cash.

how is the tuning on that old thing. I'm guessing it needs some trim pots tuned after 40 years.

It's not terrible. Needs a good cleaning (that I'm not quite able to provide.) Hasn't been used for much of its history, I'm guessing. Worst part is scratchy sliders. Still sounds pretty good, some minor issues with the strings section until it warms up well.

they all need to warm up, thats normal. get some deoxit F5 faderlube and spray those scratchy parts. follow the directions on the can. after it warms up, 20 minutes maybe, it should be in tune at 70F room temperature. if not, open it up and look for the trim pots that say osc or tune. you should probably have it open when you spray the F5 so you can wipe off any drips. if F5 doesn't eliminate the scratchy sliders, step up to deoxit D5.

I love these. I'm running the iElectribe on my iPad right now and it's crazy.
Can't wait to get an actual machine to use.

Also, finally used a Maschine yesterday.
Wow. It's fucking awesome.

Just snagged Animoog for my iPad. It's a buck until mid-November. I'm hard pressed to think of a better way to spend a buck right now.

That's the quick overview. There's full-on 20-minute plus reviews if you want, too.

I love it. Haven't run it through an amp yet, but will when I get some time.

Here's our set-up from band practice the other night:
Image

Signal chains are like so:

Roland SH-09 > Boss PS-5 Super Shifter > Moog MuRF > Jerms '78 RAT > EQD Ghost Echo > EHX SMMH (looper only) > Fender Blues Deluxe
Roland TR 727 > TSP MoleS20r Filter > TSP TeaspoonSLIGHT > Roland KC 100 (?) & Matamp Minimat w/ 1x8 Gas Can Cab
MPC1000 > TSP TeaspoonCAS > Roland KC 100 (?) & Matamp Minimat w/ 1x8 Gas Can Cab
SCI Pro One > Wyllie Overtron > Sonic Crayon Hollow Earth > Moog Delay > Malekko Spring Chicken > RCA 400 Film Projector 1x15 Custom Combo Amp

And we're using a Flame Clockworks to sync the 727, MPC and the Teaspoons.

I finally got a microkorg! Don't think pics are really required I guess for something so run of the mill.
