Pretty old stuff compared to the latest boutique pedals but still unique and rare. I guess nobody can be surprised by chorus+vibrato+compressor, but this pedal, the way these features mixed and tuned here - its just killing me. This is the real inspiring effect, cuz no matter what did you played before it but once you hit it - you just want to strum some slow stuff with chords. Basically it throws you back to the 80-90s. Joke, lets look serious at it. THe controls are not so obvious as they seem. The "tone" control dials the compression-limiting of your signal , volume and tone as well. So the volume control sits here to compensate the tone knob I would say. "Comp lo-fi" knob - we can call it the soul of the pedal. From the 7 to 10 o'clock you got nothing but compression, the from the 10 to 1.5 o'clock the sweet and soft chorus mixes in, and later from the 1.5 to 5 o'clock you are getting vibrato effect which detunes you guitar in a very cool way, also it adds some white hiss. Got to mention - you will always have you signal compressed and limited even if you go full clockwise. So this knobs basically adds chorus and vibrato to compression. The "depth" dials the depth of chorus and vibrato, the funny thing that "speed" control dials the depth too, so setting this pedal up may be a bit tricky. That little toggle switch changes the waveform, the third mode gives you and effect of stuttering gramophone, great stuff for finish tracks. It should be used with a clean amp or after your dirt pedals. I dig this pedal these days very much, MacDemarco in a box lol.
First of all I got to warn you - if you dont like doom content - please skip the demo, I`ll post something more traditional later. But I was really surprised that it can doom by itself.
Everybody who likes to build complex distortion sound will be happy with it cuz it stacks pretty good with other dirt boxes in front of it. Also dont forget about different distortion sounds that it can do by itself in different positions of drive and boost or double drive and boost along with different sub, gain, tone and volume control. Available amount of volume of boost deserves little talk. Its huge, the biggest volume that I heard. The gain level of boost is pretty common for boost pedals, but cranked volume of it literally cranks preamp tubes of your amp. So you can turn your single channel amp into two channel-amp. Sub and tone controls are working only when you are using distortion mode. Sub just cuts off your lows , in the 3rd position you got maxed lows. I dig the distortion circuit very much its definitely not marshall in a box like it was said about box of rock. It is fat, punchy , focused and just beautiful. Acts good with clean or dirty amp.
Finally I got one! Beautiful and rare toy - only 10 pedals like these were made in green sparkle color. I guess most of the people are already know it as an extra expensive effect with tiny and low cost circuit But I still like and recommend it. Got tons of lows but the Pinch control helps to cut mud out. Along with gate it adds compression and mid-hump to my ears. Fully clockwise gives you a synthy sound. Wool adds distortion even too much, I never dime it, but its just cool to know that if you need to make a little earthquake right here and now - you can do it Really dig how it ts with tube amps , it blends with theirs dynamics and even dirt.
