it compresses, then adds saturation, then goes into tape overdrive

It's a pedal whose purpose is to emulate putting your sound to tape. Of course it's gonna compress it... I'm kinda surprised it doesn't do more - that's some hi-fi sounding "tape"!

So with the Lag knob there is no "no lag" setting?

Thanks!
i mean, the tape saturation does effect the other side too so it's totally possible. i was trying to tell you that you can, just need to have it blended close to all the way wet to avoid any flanging, and set the wobble knob to taste.

i'd record you a little clip of what it sounds like but i need to leave for work in about 10 minutes.

That would be nice, thanks! Still sounds like something I could use, though. I was just hoping to get more of the tape saturation with only a little wobble here and there. But I'm sure you could get that with some fine tuning. I'm sure the Blend feature is necessary, but would be great if you could run the wobble after the tape satch without the Lag.

totally. i'll get at in the morning tomorrow.

are you concerned about there being a delay between the note being plucked and coming out of your amp? because that isn't a problem until you get past about 2 o' clock on the lag time knob.

I just played one for like 25 minutes and could only shake my head thinking of 50 ways to use it. The saving is beginning.

i started the demo with the tape saturation and wobble around 10 o clock, blended all the way wet with the lag time right at the zero through mark. gradually increased the wobble and saturation to maximum.

Awesome! Thanks friend. I like that little bit of shit you did at the end too... which is with the expression on the Lag, right?

I caved in and ordered one from Styrmon last night anyway, but your little demo just gets me more excited.

:joy: :omg: :!!!:

This, of all things, got me real interested in the Deco.

I think I may have misunderstood the Blend knob. Since the pedal is split in two, the Reference Deck and Lag Deck, I thought the Saturation knob was anchored to the Reference deck. I assumed that if you were turn to the Blend knob to "Max", all the way to the right, you would get 100% Lag deck, and therefore no Saturation. But what I now think is that Saturation is universal, and that it still effects your signal even if you were to entirely blend out the Reference deck.

So perhaps you could try this and let me know:

Put the Blend knob all the way to the right, or 100% Lag Deck blend. Now move the Saturdation knob around from min to max... does it still effect the whole signal or is there no saturation?

That would answer all my questions with one swipe.

THANKS!

The 'reference' and 'lag' decks are being mixed with the blend knob in the doubletracker section and THEN being fed into the saturation side which controls overall output and drive.
So you must have misunderstood the two decks as being represented by each side of the pedal when it's just the doubletracker side that's got to do with that.
In what you're describing the saturation knob will effect the whole signal so there's nothing to worry about there.

This totally makes me want one. £250 though? Ehhh, guess I can get by doing these sounds with other pedals.
