For bass I would agree. With guitar I def prefer the '71.
When I do play guitar (those rare and unfriendly occasions) I'm pretty exclusively a fuzz face/Meathead/etc. kind of breaux.

Love the '71 SC for riffing out by myself but BLOWN AWAY by the Acid Pig toanz, especially with downtuning. Really looking forward to trying it pushing my BAT Revelation into my V4 fullstack

question for you guys on the SC 71 fuzz of dreams.
do you think it can satisfy my gas for a Yardbox for vintage toneZ?
liking the demos.

Yardbox is a Tonebender, right?

The answer is "maybe." Big Muffs and 'Benders don't sound exactly alike, but there is some overlap with some of the flavors.

There's a Yardbox in the Classifieds right now.

Pretty much this. Watching a Yardbox demo, the 71 is definitely smoother. The Yardbox seems to have some more bite.

this is actually good news, I love muffs. but sometimes want them to perk up a bit. so I usually goose them with a rat but on it's own the rat leaves me wanting it to do something else
rats are classic but finding that the sweet spot can be done better for me at least elsewhere, hopefully...

here's what the website says

The Yardbox™. A faithful sonic copy of the original Sola Sound Tonebender, purportedly the only distortion pedal used on Led Zeppelin's first two albums. The pedal has no similarity to Jumbo, Supa, or the Vox Tonebender. Wide variation in tone and smooth dynamics at all volumes.

I want it too!!! My next fuzz will be a BeeBaa and this is the illest looking BeeBaa that there is. I don't know why but most pedals based on the BeeBaa platform just don't have it in the looks department.
