I finally picked Hesistation Marks up and gave it a proper listen.
While it didn't blow me away, it makes me happy.
Another very well done piece of work to add to the catalog.
I very much enjoy the beatz.

So Worth Going!!!
The Spokane date of Tension 2013 was so amazing!!! I'm even surprised that Trent and Co made it to this shitty town. The lighting and stage design was beautiful.
We pre-ordered tickets back in June and I guess that got me some sort of Fan Club-y-ness. I had ordered General Admission. But we decided we are old farts and wanted seats and got "upgraded". The staff was super accommodating. We wound up sitting next to a guitar tech's mom (old lady) and a girl who knows Trent's wife. Sitting was lame though and the wife and I wound up finding an open space to dance and enjoy.
I found out later that All the Love in the World has never been played live prior to this tour. The song was released on With Teeth which was 8 years ago. I don't know how many times the song has worked it's way into the set since it debuted but it got played on Tuesday and I feel like that was a very special treat. Live debut was San Antonio 11/5/2013.
Setlist: 11/19/13, Spokane Arena.
"Copy Of A"
"1,000,000"
"Terrible Lie"
"March Of The Pigs"
"Piggy"
"All Time Low"
"Disappointed"
"Came Back Haunted"
"Find My Way"
"Sanctified"
"Satellite"
"The Big Come Down"
"Survivalism"
"Running"
"A Warm Place"
"Somewhat Damaged"
"Wish"
"The Hand That Feeds"
"Head Like A Hole"
"All The Love In The World"
"Even Deeper"
"While I'm Still Here"
"Black Noise"
"Hurt"
I think Pino botched the bassline for Survivalism or it just didn't translate too well live since it's such a strange song musically to begin with. Also the climax part of All the Love in the World was a little well; anticlimactic. The bass was mixed too low for what I was expecting to be a pretty powerful change and it kinda fell flat on it's face.
Beyond that it was a great show. I definitely came back haunted. Still am.
EDIT: Oh yeah Circle Pit for HLAH. I avoided.

This was the setlist when I went:

The setlist the next day was a little better.
NIN themselves were on fucking fire but my experience was tarnished by the crowd, the venue and some fucking asshole I used to be friends with being an asshole.

Holy shit. I am so jealous you got to see this sequence of songs.
Big Come Down & Somewhat Damaged are two of my personal favorite cathartic tunes.

Hadn't heard of them.

I look through the setlist and the only dud I can really see is
Hurt. We were spared
Closer, thankfully.
While I'm Still Here made my wife cry.
I was stoked to hear
Even Deeper. That's a regular on Amelia and my "gettin it on" playlist.
I really wanted to hear
I Would for You. That song really resonates with me.
Oh and
Running is absolutely a bad ass song.
I was surprised at how relevant
Head Like a Hole sounded. I listen to PHM these days and the whole record has this primitive dated feel to it cause all the patches are 80's as fuck. Sanctified is way different these days. No more cheesy synth slap bass sound.

Yeah the new version of Sanctified is much better. Even Deeper is a great sexy time song

I wanted to go see NIN tonight in Seattle, but saw Explosions in the sky were opening. I'd rather not go to the show at all then risk seeing the last bit of that band's set.

We were able to miss EITS entirely.
I love their music,....but I can only handle it in small doses. It's stuff that you put on while you are cleaning the house.

Nothing to do with the new album, and a few years old, but this is hilariously awesome.
