Minutemen and Replacements are nothing alike, except that they're both "punk".

Not at all, hence the disclaimer. Regarding the Minutemen vs. Replacements, also with disclaimer (that being that they're not really alike). Just following the theme of the thread by stating personal preferences, yo.

teehee, I kid. But early Kaki, with all her two-handed, solo guitar, reverse-tapping and percussive stuff is QUITE similar to Andy McKee's solo guitar, two-handed, reverse-tapping and percussive stuff

Yeah, I do too, but I like many other different eras of Bowie as well.
Difficult to go wrong with Ronson though.

Yeah, beyond Lust For Life (and at least 50% of that is the opening to Trainspotting) I'm not a huge post-stooges fan of Herr Pop.
