Signature anything should only have one knob, volume, everything else should be preset so you only get the intended "signature tone." Why would you be able to manipulate someone elses signature tone if that's what you want to sound like?

Pedal demos with no shot of the amp being played through. How are we supposed to know what that OD sounds like when we don't know what it's pushing?!

Some times it is in the listing.. or on the review page of the demo-er...

pedal knobs with no markings on them so that "you have to use your ears"
i use my ears just fine!
but i want to be able to see where the knobs are set without having to bend down on my knees and use a torch!
i especially want to see if the volume knob has been accidental turned on to maximum before i turn it on and deafen people or pets

knobs not marked dont bother me as much
as knobs that dont do shit
6knobs is only impressive if they effect the sound
when you turn them
should be pretty standard

Here's a few that come to mind (I'm sure several have been covered):
Anything making knobs hard to see in low light conditions - specifically thinking of the Marshall line of pedals with chrome/gold knobs

Any pedal with the 9V jack on the sides instead of the top...WHY?! Get it out of the way of the input/output jacks!

Knob descriptions that try to be too cute (This was bigger in the 90's, such as "Fat"/"Muscle" on the Boss PW-2, or "Butt"/"Face" on the DOD Grunge, but it's also a problem with vague descriptions like "Contour" or "Color" that don't tell you what the heck the knob is actually DOING)

"3 Pedals in One!" - Okay, so I admit to owning a DigiTech DF-7 Distortion Factory to play around with, but for the most part, I dislike any pedal (be it cheapo DigiTech or boutique) that tries to impersonate several pedals (or amps) in one. If you can only use one at a time, what's really the point?
not just the 9V on the side, but the 9V on the side right next to the cable input
and not just on the side, right next to the cable input, but also on the side nearest the player!

I haven't read through all 13 pages of this thread, so this may or may not have been mentioned: "boutique" builders (read: one guy in his garage who learned how to solder a week ago) putting $5.72 worth of parts into a Tubescreamer clone with an hideous box and selling it for $300. Shit needs to stop NOW.
