I loved Dark Souls. Kinda wish there were more games like it.

Looks like I'm nearly done with the first 'chapter/section/whatever' of Red Dead. Took me about an hour to really get into it - glad I had some degree of patience, because it is super fun so far. I like how you can be a good guy or bad guy. I actually have only done 'good' things so far, except for that one guy I shot all to shit in a duel. But that was totally his fault...I was minding my own business and he started talking shit

I can actually see myself playing through a second time being a hard core criminal GTA style - just rob banks and leave a path of destruction in my wake.

RPGs are the best! They're not limited to certain game styles or mechanics so you have this whole diverse universe of stuff that all rules!

But yeah, I could see how Baldur's Gate might not be so fun to watch. "pause...you do magic missile, you do magic missile, you smash with hammer, you summon a wood nymph...unpause."

Red Dead always looked fun. Hide behind your horse and shoot errbody! The place I used to intern at did/does the Sound for Rockstars's cutscenes so they had all these sweet games that I couldn't play because I was working...

Next cool game release? Lego Lord of the Rings maybe? What games are coming out that you guys are pumped about?

You know what genre needs more games? Horror! The only recent horror games are the Amnesia/Penumbra ones, right? There was one recently about a writer, it was ok.. can't think of the name... I don't count FPS games either, those aren't horror games to me.. I guess I mean survival horror.

FPS, yeah... dead space was horror though. at least the first. i loved that one but the second sucked (think i've already thrown that).

what about the zombie games? haven't played 'em but the dead island games seem kinda horror...

Dead Island was a major disappointment. It was fun at first, but got really repetitive and was way too short IMO

If you play STALKER: Call of Pripyat with the Misery mod it really does become survival horror...
Without, it's just a mighty creepy atmosphere. I love the survival aspect; it's not just run and gun. With that mod you really have to stop and decide if it's worth getting into a fight because
a) there's a good chance you're gonna die
b) there may not even be any decent loot at the end
c) ammo is crazy scarce and valuable

The pain in the ass that is hunting down the correct patches and trying not to break your cracked game when installing mods is reason enough to buy it

Anybody play Forza? I am still enjoying Red Dead, but reaaaaaaaly want to get into Forza 4. I've had it for almost a year and just never took the time to get into it. Loved 2 and 3, so I'm prepared for it to steal a substantial amount of my life.

Oh man it's been so long since I've been able to get into driving games. My mind just can't get into anything outside of RPGs at this point. Even skyrim got boring after 15 hours
