Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Thanks dude! And meh. I need to find a reliable 555 fader circuit. I just don't feel like wasting chips in the process. If I could find a verified layout for an LED fader I'd be all over it. I guess I need to start looking at tremolo circuits or talk to Ryan or someone a lot smarter than me to figure a small circuit out. There's just something special about a fading LED man

Almost positive the parts for Helters fuzz are in. Gonna open the package now as I can't remember what I ordered haha

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
I wired up Helter's Gloom Drive the other day and got it 90% ready and testible. The momentary 3DPT is acting as always on right now until pressed, I need to figure out how to change the polarity and then we will be golden.
Shipping out WeHuntKing's Muff, I was going to yesterday but didn't have time after my job interview.
Going to get back to Wes' fuzz this week and build 2 new clean blends just in case that is what is wrong with the circuit.
The chip sockets for Rot Gut's WSG came in, going to lift the old chips out and place the sockets in, as well as hopefully tackle some potentiometer wiring when I get back in town on Sunday

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Swung by DIYStompboxes and got the issue with the momentary switch solved, so I'll get that wired up tonight and test it out again. I think I need to order a new volume pot because I thought I'd been using 100k's when really it was 500k. But other than that it should be golden and on its way shortly.

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
So last night I was working on Helter's Gloom Drive and ended up taking the momentary 3DPT switch apart to try one of the things that DIY stompboxes recommended. It didnt work at all and I ended up breaking the switch, so I've got a new one ordered along with a mono jack for the input (the stereo jack was unnecessary and just took up space) as well as a larger volume pot. They essentially told me to look inside the 3DPT switch, when in actuality all I think I really need to do is switch where the effect input and output would go.
Also, I'm selling another pedal for the CF Bike Ride that I had mentioned a few posts ago. I made this Cave Dweller Delay for myself, but I ended up liking it so much that I'm building a smaller version for my board with just the delay and blend. Amazingly analog sounding digital delay with crazy self oscillation momentary and two delay time selections via the middle switch. Also has a blend/mix control so you can do crazy oscillation with a lot of clean signal going through since the oscillation can get really loud and noisy
I built it solid as shit and made sure there was no way the boards could come in contact with the enclosure, and although its really large, its worth it. The amount of sounds out of this thing are crazy. Just search a few pages back and look up the demo I did of Exie's with the same mods!
I'm selling it for $105 shipped, that includes a lifetime warranty for the guts of the delay if they were to ever fail.

Nah dude no worries, its 90% done anyways. Just minor details. It was simple!

it's cool, even with tone knob dimed, having the pregain set high injects a lot of bass back into the sound. very balanced frequency range, especially in conjunction with the mids toggle.

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Glad you dig it WeHuntKings.
Tomorrow I'm going to be doing a lot of wiring. I'm going to unwire Wes' fuzz and just run both the fuzz circuits without the blend controls to see if the FY-2 is working the way it should. Then I'll introduce one blend circuit and see how it interacts, and then finally add the second blend circuit and see how it acts. If it starts acting weird like it is now I'll just go ahead and build the two new clean blend boards. I talked to Dr. Ryan about the blends and he thought that maybe the two buffer circuits didn't care for each other which makes sense to me. If that is the case I'll look into a different blend circuit for one of the fuzzes that runs off of a different buffer. It might be circuit error, it might be the buffers, I'm not sure. But I'll be finding out tomorrow.
Going to also begin the chasis wiring of the WSG. I'd like to get all of the initial wiring done between potentiometers and switches to the point where only the board needs to be dropped in.
Ordered a new footswitch for Helters fuzz and a 500k pot. Going to try a different wiring scheme for the footswitch that I think will make it work the way we are wanting.

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Took out the clean blends from both circuits and the FY-2 is still acting the same, very quiet, but the fuzz that is there sounds really bassy compared to YouTube videos. I'm noticing a 'pop' when I engage the footswitch like something isn't grounded, but I've grounded everything to where it needs to be. Going to trouble shoot some more after I get some WSG guts wired...

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Its no problem dude. Made a silly realization that I'd made an MFZ-1 instead of an FZ-1, so I'm just going to redo the boards all over again, complete with blend controls on the same board if I can help it, just to make mounting easier.
