Also, I met Sheldon Dingwall today...that was cool. And I gave JoshB the patchbay as I've been a bad person...he said he'll get it to you either tomorrow or Sunday.

yah. thought it'd go that direction, lowering the series to match, but i'm a git about pups and bass guts. hence my having a (wonderful) dooder that does manipulatory stuff on my..... stuff.

fuck. JEALOUS. i got to go to NAMM last year, not near long enough, and Sheldon was the person i really wanted to meet. but he was doing a thing in China. damn it.

yahp! got the text from Josh-a-licious! hellza excited to see him again. no worries homie. you are BUSY.

While covered in chocolate syrup.

THERE I SAID IT!

Also, RATs rock. :thumb:

Rats do rock. Rat stickers on guitars? Not quite as much. I need to build me a Rat...

If only I had dated fuzz-loving bassists a few years back this thing might have gotten me mad chocho-laid. Alas, all it got me was some soldering iron burns. (... that may or may not have been what I learned to solder on)

Achtane wrote:YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT, GOOD SIR.
I gotta ask though...is that a string tree at the first string?
And also...'sup with that fretboard near the higher frets?

Yeah. I replaced the string tree with a nicer one, but the original came in handy for keeping the low string in place when doing bass dive bombs... sometimes it would pop out, and the locking tuners didn't keep the strings as far down as normal tuners.

Annnd... I may have have scalloped them with a dremel. :erm:

so..... until the parenthesis i totally read that as, "i COULD have had all the sweet chocolately loving, but unfortunately i rokked the Big Metalz Bass. which led me to lovers that liked Solder-Play.".

and that made me happy. fucking parenthetical supplements. always ruining something AWESOME.

i HATE you Phantom Parenthesis.

You can get one, but they aren't duck dunn signatures anymore, he moved to a different company, also the darkstar pickups, which were the original pu's in his signature bass aren't available.

Sidenote: I've been to the Lakland "factory" and got to try all of the basses, saw some secret stuff, and picked out my bass. Super cool guys, also there is a factory cat. :joy:

That guy is of the map who made them. I am in contact with a French Luthier who is making a pickup essentially the same ( beefed up Bi-Sonic) and supposedly some other pick-up builder on TB is working on one.

they are still going to be EXPENSIVE

I have a geddy lee jazz bass body that is routed for one at the neck and already has a soapbar in the bridge. I am trying to get that Franken Fender together within the next few months.

McSpunckle wrote:It's sort of like a Ric, P bass, and Thunderbird had a 3 way. Lots of snarl, but lots of depth too. I've played some acoustic basses that aren't as loud as it is unplugged, too. And it's not quite as big as it looks...

I've been trying to think of ways to de-metal it, though. Gay pride stickers would probably do the trick.

While we're here, this might be more ILF's thing (except maybe the Rat sticker-- it came with the pedal)

I keep it hung on a wall, and it still works, sorta...

Have I told you that I love you? I mean, like, recently?

Goddamn, I love you Spunkiez.
