built this when i got home from work today, but it's driving me mad because i'm currently stranded at my parents house due to hurricane sandy's wrath and i don't have a goddamn power supply ANYWHERE. i feel pretty good about it though, everything is right according to the directions and i was looking at the gutshots of the successful builds on this forum. i guess if anyone can see anything that would indicate the pedal not being able to function, let me know, ha.

looks good to me,
not sure how you get your wiring to not look like spaghetti, super clean!!
you should be able to mcgiver a battery to it to test it
or just start checking all their cordless phones and such, something must run on 9v

Nice Halloween theme to the wiring too!
Everything looks pretty good in that pic. Good luck!

good news is that i found an adaptor on a chord less phone (thanks for that), but the bad news is i hooked up the pedal and i am just getting fucking ridiculous noises when i turn it on.. the guitar comes through with the right knob twisties, but it's usually just really loud screeching, exploding, and helicopter noises.. buh

Honestly, sounds like its working perfectly. I never found one good "fuzz" setting on mine, just a lot of crazy noises.

I get one fuzz tone at a specific setting when in the front of the chain
and lots of spitting and sputtering other places
but that's exactly what I always got with the real deal too

i don't know... i can't even get any notes to come through really. and it doesn't sound anything like demo videos when i try to match the settings. i'll check everything again i guess

It could be the power supply you are using. If it is build for some other purpose (charging phones, powering a radio, etc) it is going to make more noise than the supplies built for powering gear.
I would also suggest to turn all the knobs all the way up, except the volume. That should be your most "normal" fuzz sound. From there, you can start playing with the different sounds.
FWIW, I can always get a super heavy fuzz sound out of it.

I guess my post was subjective because the keyword would be "good" there. I could get a fuzz out of it but it was not inspiring at all. The crazy noises on the other hand were completely awesome and unique.

when i do that - turn everything way up except volume - i just get a humming noise, and while i can hear my guitar coming through, it's just the dry signal underneath a hum.. also when i have the volume at like noon and i turn the pedal off the bypass signal is louder than with the pedal engaged. that being said, at very very specific settings i do get "usable" sounds where my guitar gets fuzzy, but still i have to crank the volume and it's still not louder than my dry signal.
i'll try it with a voodoo pedal supply as soon as i get the chance, though.

dude you gotta run those crazy noises through some filters and delays and such, that pedal is like having a whole new instrument.
So good!

It could definitely just be the power supply. I've had all kinds of problems with fuzzes running on adapters.
Also stripes is the wire going to the bottom left lug of your switch soldered to that lug? It doesn't look like it in the pic but it's hard to tell
