think I may have a very rare V3 NYC Muff (with the original box), according to
this page (look for the TONE BYPASS V3 section). The description given there matches mine almost perfectly, except for the knobs...it came to me with those. I've contacted the guy who wrote that page to see if he can verify what mine actually is, or not.

I'm pretty sure you have a V5 there. I clearly see 2 opamps in that picture above. Also, the traces are more straight as apposed to more curved on the older boards.
Here's another photo of a V5 from Kit's site:

You can see the traces are similar, where the V3 Tone Bypass was more like this:

No, that's a V5 op-amp muff. The v3 is a EH3003 Ram's head board, usually with BC293C trannies (but I've seen others; I had a PNP w/ 2N5087s in it, awesome muff!).
The one you have is
labelled EH3003, which is confusing, but it's a completely different board. No transistors, 2 op-amps. There was also another IC muff board EH3003B used in the v4 and 5 muffs as well as EH1322.
They put those boards in a lot of the Little Big Muffs as well, although EH1322 is more common.

Mine has been stuck in the mail for a month because of the bloody strike.
How's it sound? Looks great.

Oh, Muffs? Hmmmm...
Some triangles

Shiny boxes

A bunch of different versions and related almost-muffs

The Red Guard

Ram's head era: Muff, Freq Analyzer, Mummy face Bad Stone and a Guild Foxey Lady, which is a 2n5133 EH3003 muff

Thanks, guys...that was one reason for posting the pics. My electronics knowledge in general begins and ends with soldering, and so far have been relying on Kit's pages to figure out just what mine is. Rare or not, it's still one of the best fuzzes I own.
