34.5" scale

Tuned F, A#, C#, G# (.190, .142, .106, .079)

I've owned a lot of nice basses over the years, but this one is hands down the winner.

Wait, F as in tuned up a semi-tone, or tuned down an octave minus a semi-tone? Do you have any clips?

Ron is the bassist in Bongripper, and they tune LOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. You should be able to find clips of his playing on their albums on YT and Bandcamp. Although I'm not sure what bass he normally plays on their albums, I think the EGC bass is pretty new.

How does it sound? Those basses are so pretty

also in:
1978 Musicmaster, somehow sounds good with flatwounds which I usually hate.

Gorgeous musicmaster Chet! I like flats but not all the time, I need a second bass so one can always have flats and one rounds...

And because basses are cool so I always want more

As bigchief pointed out, tuned down an octave minus a semi-tone to Low F. You can hear it in my band bongripper. There's even a couple bass & drum only demos of a couple songs off our "satan worshipping doom" record floating around the internet somewhere. I've been using various basses tuned the same way since about 2005. The most notable of them was my 78 Gibson RD artist, which is now no longer mine as I sold it shortly after getting the ECG.

No recordings with the ECG yet, it'll be making it's live debut at MDF in a couple weeks. I'm still absolutely loving it, in fact every time I pick it up I like it more.

Now I feel like I should get an EGC six string bass.

Tuned F, A#, C#, G#, E#, G# (.190, .142, .106, .079, .072, .053)

I don't like six string basses, but I like high G strings.

Maybe I'll tune a guitar like that for practice.

The other day I tuned a lap steel CGDGAA.

I keep thinking about making a lap steel tuned that low… I just have to find the right thing to make it out of...

yeah, you should. You'll find something and it'll be awesome.

It's just a regular lap steel that I have a set of heavy flats on. I'd use a heavier set if I could find one I liked. That "high" A could especially use a heavier string. I do kinda wanna bass lap steel like John Paul Jones though.

Best string I ever found for steel were the Thomastik George benson set but god are they $$$ I need flats again on mine.. I don't like the rounds… I tune to CFCGCF alot :thumb: Yeah a bass steel would be too badass… like one of the extended range things with 11 strings… but no fretboard :thumb:
