I got to see Graveyard open up for Clutch back when they only had their first record out. Skinny ass dweebs looked like they hadn't eaten in five days, but they had incredible energy.

Or you could just buy my Dunwich Stonehenge which I have been trying to sell!

Man, if I had the money that thing'd be on it's way to me yesterday.

It's had reliability issues (shit on me twice live) and while it's been OK thus far, it gave me a scare last night. I just don't want to gig out with something that isn't crazy reliable. Plus, it has 99999 tubes, and retubing is a pricey pain in the ass. If I have to, I'll sell the v4, but I'd like to hold onto it for now.

So, looking for a tube head (preferably 100w) under 700ish dollars. I totally missed out on a bassman 135 on ebay for 390 :( I'll be running it into an Orange 4x12 and pairing it with a Sunn Beta into another Orange 4x12. Suggestions? Folks looking to sell? GO.

Are you going to be using pedals for your dirt? Cause I'd throw another peavey suggestion out there, the VB-2. 225w tube with 6xel34's, fx loop, switchable input channels (clean or dirty each with their own gain knob), and a great eq with selectable mid frequencies. It's loud, mean, and takes pedals like no other. All for around 5-600$ used. They market it as a bass amp, but i've had way more success with it as a clean pedal platform for guitar.

Yeah, all pedal dirt. No need for an fx loop, but that sounds tempting. I'll keep an eye out for it. Plenty loud?

So today I had a fun craigslist adventure. A Sunn concert bass was for sale in the consumer electronics section. I got a great deal on it and when I went to go get it, this is what I learned-

"It's a toob amp dood, toobz sound better cause they don't do dishtorshunz" its solid state.

"I disconected the dishtorshunz knob cause it sounds better" no he didn't, it needs a footswitch to use that

"I just got new toobz put in it so they wont run out anytime soon." well thats a relief, I don't want to run out of toobz.

I got it home and went over it and aside from some cosmetic issues, it's good to go. he was using it to listen to his iphone with a car subwoofer as a speaker. :D

Its definitely loud, it keeps up with the Naki just fine and technically has 25 more watts then it. On 2-2.5 through a 4x12 it drowns out everyone in my 7 piece band except the drummer.

Funnily enough, that SUNN from SUNN is probably one of the best prices I've seen for a Model T half-stack in a little while.

Trippy, considering they're super into fetishized costs!

Just start running your dual rig again. And play just a hair louder than he can keep up with. Basically, shame his ass into running a dual rig like a man.

I hear ya on the symmetry/OCD though. I want to put together a small bass rig, and one of the criteria is that the cab is about the same size as my guitar cabs :picard:

Fortunately, the Acoustic 1x15 and 4x10 are both about the right size so it will be cheap when I do have the cash to do it.

Also how do you get your volume adjusted right and aany tips for eq? I have one bassy and mid pumped the other mid scooped and a little trebly with lots of bass tossed in too.

BASS

I run a dual rig.
Verellen Loucks--> hex cabs Giant Killer It's very mid rangey and bitey (run a BAT BF->badascan into this head)
Red Bear MKE120--> Emperor 4x12. It's more low-mids/bassy. (Run an elements->Fuzzrociou Rat King into this head)

I recently got a 2x15. Haven;t had a chance to put it through its paces yet which is a shame.

PICS MOTHERFUCKER!

I run a dual rig. An incredibly small dual rig, but it's still all sorts of fun. I really need to start looking at distortion pedals for the Ampeg for when fuzz just isn't doing it for me.

Good thing he replaced the toobz - you literally can't even put a price on how much that costs.

Es settled guys, I'm getting the arc effect big green pi. Although a muff may not stack too well with the rat, I tried the ocd and I liked it but it just sound kinda meh overall by itself, it was like coping some of my rat tones with a little bit extra.

Honestly though, it's mostly about that enclosure. I'm a sucker for anything army looking.

I'd be running a stereo set-up, kinda like Trey's, if I had a splitter and more cables. I hate spending money on boring shit like that.

I used to run the dual rig in our old band so he knows that I wanna do it. He's like me though and really strapped for cash right now. One day though, dual - dual rigs will commence.
