Buffers will largely eliminate any capacitance effects of the cables. I'd build or buy a buffer before putting money into cables. Aside from the construction aspect of course.

MI audio boost n buff has always worked well for me, or even some of the better boss pedals

This man speaks the truth. I use both a buffer and high end cables but the buffer does make a bigger difference overall in my opinion as it can change how pedals interact with your amp and usually in a good way.
