I wanted this sentence to end right there, as if I had walked in on a late-night round of fraternizing.

"Yeah Mike, you say you wouldn't. But you know you would. I don't care that you're not attracted to her. Even if she is horrible, who wouldn't wanna bed the most powerful woman in the world!"

So I'm the asshole who screwed this all up. Sorry to all whose views I insulted or gave short shrift. And I'm sorry for the below, since I'm 70% sure it's still dickish.
Derelict78 wrote:My big problem with this government is the 100+ billion that we spend on corporate subsidies and the 600 billion we spend on the military.
I'm a "statist" who has a big problem with the same things.

I don't like it when people who see the same problems as me would rather toss the whole project than work with me and others to fix it. I get the despair/rage/feeling of futility, but I get very cranky about losing potential allies to these. Makes me needlessly reductive and dismissive of other views. Sorry.

Lots of protest voting talk in this thread so this probably fits in quite nicely here.
https://inews.co.uk/essentials/news/uk/ ... ng-brexit/
On the BBC, a voter named as Adam told Victoria Derbyshire: “I didn’t think that was going to happen.

“My vote – I didn’t think was going to matter too much because I thought we were just going to remain.”

He added: “The David Cameron resignation has blown me away to be honest. I think the period of uncertainty we’re going to have for the next few months has been magnified, so I’m quite worried.”
‘Very disappointed’

On ITV, a voter named Mandy in Manchester airport said: “I was very disappointed about the result, even though I voted to leave, this morning I woke up and the reality did actually hit me.

“But if I had the opportunity to vote again, it would be to stay.”

She blamed “the pressure of being told” how to vote by both sides.

A Twitter user named Matt Stephens, who said he is a 30-year-old chartered accountant, revealed that he and his wife voted Leave because they thought the “establishment would take notice” – but they now feel a “twinge of guilt”.
Don't be a fucking dipshit. Don't vote for Gary Johnson. Don't vote for the fucking green party. Fuck you.

Boooooooo. No apologies! Politics is for the thick skinned to begin with.

Anarchists are secretly the most optimistic people in the world because they believe that we can just destroy everything, start over and it will all be beautifully hunky-dory. I chalk it up to a blissful ignorance of history.

I too would rather not throw out the baby with the bathwater, but hey, some people just think we got extra babies, bathtubs and clean water laying around. Of course many of these people suffer from some of the worst first world problems like complaining about fluoride in the aforementioned water which has been provided abundantly to us.

This is not to excuse the current political status quo of course. However, one must ALWAYS remember the founders spent far more time discussing - in both theory and practicality - their ideal government rather than bitching and moaning about the current one. The key to a successful revolution is to establish a satisfactory concrete endgame ideology prior to the great dismantling.

You can't just lump all anarchists in like that but I agree with the thrust of your point (TWSS).
