No sarcasm. It does help.
Brings the neck closer to your body or something like that
But makes it slightly harder to strum.
Takes some getting used to

Hmm, I generally do keep my strap kinda high up... I shall try that out tomorrow.

I find it a lot easier when I hold the bass at more of an angle. It never clicked for me to hold it parallel to the ground.

Exactly. no sarcasm [this time ;) :p ], I play a lot of power chords on a five string, I use really long straps, basically you can swing your bass up almost vertical and it keeps the neck from sticking out when you do it.

BRO BUT HOW ARE YOU GONNA FUCK UP YOUR WRISTS?????

I've never had a problem playing chords on the grabber. Though, actually, I found it hard to play guitar for the first 3-4 years of me trying due to the stupid tiny strings.

I keep guitars around in hopes that one day I'll get past the "man, fuck these tiny strings" stage...but I don't think that'll happen. I've started leaving a couple strings off so that there's space on the fretboard, fuck it. It's like playing a toy, I'm throttling it the entire time. Like the amount of effort it takes for me to not accidentally mute adjacent strings is absurd.

Bass is the best because I can use the pads of my fingers and get lazy with it. Guitar requires nerdy precision or elf hands, get outta here with that mess. Maybe with a 6-string bass, though...
