I just meant that nobody knows who we are. I just want to get in an open slot at a low key but solid show.

Ah- sorry. Do you have specific dates in mind?

I'm a teacher so I get the summer off so any time in the summer is good but we'd be happy just doing a 3 or 4 day weekend and I can always take time off for that. So preferably in the summer but any time before Thanksgiving works for Portland and anytime time at all for LA. We're in Oakland so we're only 5 hours from LA and 11 or so from Portland. I figure we could hit Portland and Seattle and then maybe somewhere like Sacramento, Eureka or really anywhere for a 3rd date along the way. For LA I'd love to play SLO even though I hated living there but I have an odd love/hate thing with that place and maybe an OC show or somewhere in the valley would be cool but LA is so big that playing on the west side and east side is like playing an out of town gig for most bands.

Nothing Hiwatt about that stuff, I can't remember what they sound like but I'd imagine it's on par with Marshall MG cabs. Nowhere near an Orange.
Ok thanks man. That was kinda my first instinct, but I dig the Cab design with the port.
Looks like I'll keep trying to save.
Although, I do have those sheffields...
To clarify, they are the same build quality (of cab) as the high end Hiwatt cabs right? Only difference is you get real fanes/celestions in the expensive one?

So my friend has Thou on his radio show. All four of them muthafuckas. I'm so jelly that I'm not somewhere close.

I've been MIA for a little while. Did a service immersion trip through the Uni, saw some rough stuff. Heard from friends on other immersion trips about some even rougher stuff. Overall I feel changed, but I wonder how long it will take me to fall back into the same mindset as everyone else here. In more doom related news, I think I missed out on the amp I was watching, but that's fine by me, seeing as I'm still not sure I would have been able to utilize it properly.

But I have found these:

Anyone know what types of speakers Carvins come loaded with? $80 is hard to pass up.

Nope they're cheaply made cabs with cheap speakers.

Dang.
I was just doing some more research and people seem to be saying that the cab is marine ply, so I can't see what the difference between the expensive range and these are (besides speakers). But even sticking fanes in it can't justify $1K+ worth of price difference.
I'm guessing they're some sort of chipboard then?
If they were identical (or at least passable) in wood and construction I'd get it, sell off the speakers and put something decent in there....

What kind of phaser or vibe did Mike use on the recording of Catharsis? The more I listen to it the more I miss the Russian Small Stone that I had before. Yob is making me want that swirly goodness again.

I think he uses a Whirlwind Orange Box (though he probably has a dozen different phasers he uses on a regular basis) and was under the impression he used to use a Phase 90. But I can't be sure. Nick probably has deeper insight.

I've a black Russian Small stone that I'd part with no problem.

I might take you up on it. The reason I got rid of it though was because of the size. Can you pm some pics and details?

Feeling like I'm not going to be able to gel with my Hovercraft Andromeda... :(

I really underestimated how badly I need an effects loop. But it sounds so fucking good! Not sure what I'm going to do...

What on earth do you need an effects loop for?
