So I'm mid voyage home from GA to CO and I stopped in Missouri last night. Decided to forgo the hotel and just sleep in my truck in the parking lot. Ran the battery out(*doh) last night listening to a dark tower audio book after getting here. Thank you roadside assistance. The one thing that makes full coverage livable.

On another note, figured out how to comfortably make long distance drives... audio books. They really pass the time.

According to the dude's website, he's had "experiences". It is an interesting site, to say the least.
I might if we have a free weekend day. And I saw that! Seems like an interesting chap.. a dead head who believes in aliens?!?! My kinda guy. :thumb:

LOWNAN.
Currently at dropA on the 24.75.
What gauge to get to Fs? What other things do I need to look out for when setting it up?
I think I've got daddario baritone lights on there now.....late 60s, early 70s for gauges?
Welcome to my world ;)

I do drop F (basically C standard with a low F added to the bottom) on a 25.5" scale 7 string dearmond with .12-.79 circle K strings and I've got the intonation dead on. The bridge on mine is angled though so its further back at the low strings and that really helps with the intonation range needed to set it up. If yours is straight up and down like a typical gibson you might run into issues, especially with a 24.75" scale length. As far as the setup with a gibson style bridge you may have to look out for the break angle down tot he tailpiece. On mine the tailpiece is anchored straight to the guitar and the height isnt adjustable so when i put the thicker strings on some of them were hitting the back of the bridge causing a sitar like effect. I did it the hope and pray way of filling down the back of the bridge to remove enough material to make a small channel for the string to go through (i will have to take some pics) but it worked out perfectly.

My suggestions are get a cheap decent 25.5" scale guitar (like a tele) and put .15-.79 gauge strings on it. :thumb:

I like Tool. I haven't listened to them intently since before lateralus, but they hold a special place in my heart due to the friends / experiences I had at the time. I would definitely listen to that bootleg as it has only the songs I would want to hear.

But your tool reference timing is impeccable

Flying back from Vegas this past weekend I had a pleasent encounter with a very typical looking tool fan, wearing a tool shirt and looked like a tool. I was wearing my Truckfighters trucker hat, I walked past him to get to my seat on the plane, gave him the nod and kept walking. Later on the flight he got stuck behind someone getting something from the over head right next to me. He then said to me that he loved Truckfighters.

That's really all it was.

Cool story right?

The only thing I know about Truckfighters is that their ubiquitous Josh Homme PR quote is a total lie.

I can't handle Nardwaur. I get it's an act and it's supposed to be funny, but that voice is nails on chalkboard to me.
