Been on my first semi-date since my wife decided to end our relationship last night. Got piss-drunk, listened intently to what she was saying and tried to say something smart about whatever she was talking about. Went fine, she's all into me, but I think I'm not ready yet. Not even for fucking. Also this girl from yesterday is really smart and interestingly weird but not funny at all, and I like to laugh.

Make fun of her in a degrading way chicks love that :idk: . But seriously give it a shot she might surprise you?

True, weird isn't it? I never got how that works. Usually I team up with chicks I like and make fun of other people in a degrading way.
I am sure I could get into her panties in no time if I wanted to. Like I said she's all into me and I mean it. Damn, she even told me about how she'd talked to her ex that day and told him that I raised the stakes for everyone. Ha! I have no idea if I'm phrasing this right. Anyway. It wouldn't be a problem at all if I could make my mind up. On the one hand I just need someone to get my mind off my wife and all the crap I went through the last couple of months, on the other hand I am too lazy to attempt anything on girls I don't like. I am rarely refused, not because I'd be super pretty, but I am smart, a good talker and charming. I get what I want. The problem is the wanting!
So this chick is all theoretical about stuff. It's what I meant with weird. You can hardly just have a conversation, she keeps derailing everything into philosophical terrain. It is inspiring to talk to her (she also makes cool Witch House style music). She's fascinated by all these psycho/socio/philosophical questions I love too, but then again it can either weird me out or just go on my nerves that every conversation goes down that path after a short while. I don't know her that well, so you might be right about surprising me - who knows.
For whatever that's worth she's from Kazakhstan. Slight exotism bonus plus we both don't really belong here. Good thing to have in common.

Oh well, on tuesday the third band I'm maybe being a part of is going to have another rehearsal. Now to find out if the singer is still with that bloke I like for being a nice dude and dislike for being real pretty and into the same girls. (that shit began in school)

All of this probably belongs in some other thread but since the rough topic was already dating I thought I'd dish this confused crap out here.

Got to see my daughter's team win their softball championship, and I only missed the 1st set of the Phish concert. And I got to see the 2nd set of the Phish show.

My best friend, his girlfriend, and myself watched Perfume the other night. It was pretty good and now I kind of want to read the book.
The happiness is, we now have an inside joke with which to annoy his girlfriend.
SPOILER : show
We ruined the movie for her by yelling "You smell me, bro?" any time Jean-Baptiste was creeping someone.

I'm gonna go to the library and write that in all the books.

i'm not sure how well it relates to the dating thread, but i went out last night and drove up to San Francisco to see a friend of mine who was drumming with a band playing up there, and it was weirdly similar to the unaccustomed-to-dating experience in some ways (not least because there were friendly, attractive single women there talking with me)...between being broke, depressed, and timid i hardly ever get out of the house, and even less often do i go out alone, so there was a distinct "gosh, how do i talk to people?" aspect to the evening. i was kind of on a mission, though, because i want to try and get a chance to play with the band leader, who's into the Neil Young thing which i can slice and dice up and down from here to Kansas. so i wound up spending much of the evening talking with strangers, which is usually about as high on my choice of activities as being boiled in oil. but if you never go out, you never get out.

II'm happy because I am finally graduating from the University of Oregon today. This is after 12 years of trying to get a degree and changing my major 3 times.

While waiting for my wife outside the bathroom at a Phish show, I saw a girl come out of the bathroom, stoned out of her gourd, with bare feet, unable to operate the buttons on her short shorts.

All is right with the world.

So my girlfriend told me last night that she's decided she doesn't want to go on vacation this year like we were originally planning.

Know what that means?

8 fucking string guitar. Yeah.
