Got two episodes left of The Haunting of Hill House. The jump scares get old fast (why do they still do jump scares in 2018? They're not scary), but it has some great tension and the story is pretty neat so far. Horror stuff tends to have shit endings though, so I'm holding off on recommending it to everyone and the mothers just yet. Kind of feels like Six Feet Under meets season 1 of American Horror Story.

It's like a mashup of Pee Wee's Playhouse, The Munsters, The Muppet Show and Martha Stewart Living, except the Muppets want to fuck the humans, Martha shows you how she makes a cake that's too complicated for normal humans to create, and house guests suddenly get murdered.

I'm not really sure who this show is made for.
My gf made me watch the first episode the other day. It has an interesting quality. She has an interesting look. I was also high so that probably made it weirder. Good description ^^^

I loved The OA. One of my favorite Netflix shows. I assume Season 2 is still coming...

I'm not sure how long Netflix wants to hold on to it before releasing. They've been done since May of this year.

Yeah, I wish they actually showed all the episodes, though.
Having skips in the underlying story got pretty annoying.

Update; I felt they did pretty well ending it off. A bit cheesy, but not too bad at all. Solid show!

I love old spooky mansion stories, but the effects ruined it for me. They did so much with cheap CGI they just didn't need to, like they actually preferred the '99 remake of The Haunting to the original.

I would have liked The Haunting of Hill House if I had gone in knowing it would be a drama. I didn't hate it, but I wanted horror. The first 4 episodes were decent. A lot of girl power and don't trust men writing. Which set up some bad ass female characters. Then it all kind of went to shit. Damaged people that can't handle relationships. Boring. The acting was pretty good and there were some good monologues. Predictable situations and foreshadowing. The ending was very cheesy.

On the other hand.
Just watched Britannia on Amazon. I really liked it.

Once you realize Christine McConnell is TG, the show pretty much explains itself, and seems a lot more normal, if that makes any sense...

Started this show based on this recommendation. Pretty good bingeable stuff.
