I'm pretty sure the Subdecay has exp control that lets you do that?

Edit: Yeah, it does. Prometheus DLX is the name of the game.

This looks awesome!

Where'd you get the arcade buttons/do you have a sense of how durable they are? I've been thinking of using them on a DIY midi foot controller, but wasn't sure how they'd hold up being stepped on.

You can get buttons at most arcade stick suppliers:

Sanwa is one of the preferred brands of fighting game players and some of those dudes smash the fuck out of those buttons, so they seem like a good bet for durability.

Sanwa are good...Seimitsu were the other one the shooters used. I think it was Sanwa buttons and an older revision of Seimitsu joysicks/switches (or the other way around for precision in shooting... I can't remember). I think the sanwas had more throw? The other thing to do was to get older springs with a tighter action and put them in newer sticks...man, a whole weird world there. I always liked Sanwa, so good choice!

The newer Hori Kuro are ok too for the money (at least the joysticks...still not as good as either of the above).

Speaking of controllers...since I am an old man now (or at least feel like one)...I need a damn midi controller...and they all have that damn USB instead of MIDI ports...is there an adapter or something? I just need it to test sounds (going to be sequencing most of the time...) and something like nanokey2 would be perfect...(want to be cheap as hell about this but something ok enough...not one of those old membrane pads orsomething).

What am I missing with this USB thing? Cheap midi keys with a midi port? Nanokey2 and some kind of adapter? I dunno?

Doing research...my god, this apple and usb stuff is ruining everything...fuck laptops and DAWS...midi keys are more expensive now than they ever where (meaning 10 years ago)...fuck that. Beatstep it is I guess. Reaper might work...ugh

Looking at abelton is like looking into the corporate world...spartan and a slow march to death...gotta find a tracker that does midi because, even though I know a lot of you all like abelton, I can't do it...haha...I'm playing music for fun and it just ain't fun.

I just want to build something with arcade buttons on it just for the sake of arcade buttons. I'll think of something. Arcade button fuzz?

:animal: i have enough materials for another one of these, (got in case i botched the first one).
wanna see how the build goes the 2nd time around now that i have all the pieces and have gone thru it once.
this first one was really a learning experience and mostly me just hoping that it would all work out in the end.

Did you get all the code tweaked liked you wanna?
Easy to play and manipulate?
yessir! the cool thing about it, since i just put the whole arduino board in there, i can still plug it into the computer via the USB and tweak the code anytime.
so I can add new features to it and update it stuff as I go. i wanted it to be finished yet flexible, something i could continue learning on.

yea from what i gathered they were good quality so i went w/ them.
for the USB to midi thing. u need like a USB/Midi host. lame how they don't give u a midi port really anymore (some stuff i guess they do).
kenton makes one, iconnectmidi does, a few others out there. i think theres a pedal one by damage control or something like that.
basically it just makes it so u can connect the usb and the midi together.
best bet is prob just to find an older midi keyboard w/ the midi ports.

was pretty much the same motivation for me. arcade buttons!

Does anyone own the Mr. Black Downward Spiral and use it for like more than 20 seconds? I really want one, but I fear it will be a one trick pony and it will get old really fast. I love the effect, but I usually use stuff ALL the time for a week and then throw it away. Someone guide me!

Wow, I was not expecting to see such enthusiasm for a discussion of arcade buttons. This place is weird, in the best way.

Hey, you guys, I was looking through some of my stuff, and found the original transformer for my '63 Bandmaster head. Got it switched out for a European one because I thought it would be neat to be able to run my amp on that tasty Norwegian electricity current thingy. Anyway, is this thing something anyone would be interested in, or does it belong in a recycling plant?
