To cheap to shell out money for a Badass. GOIN' AGAINST THE GRAIN with this Gotoh from Achtane
I want to swap out that cheap Johnson 'EMG' with another Alumitone. But they're so expensive for the J bass since not many are made...

It's just a modern MIM, unfortunately. It plays like an absolute dream though. It's one of the "road worn" models they had for a year or two with the beefier neck and MIA hardware with nitro finish. It picked it up used for much cheaper than the rip off price they retail for, but considering how incredible it feels and plays, it's definitely worth it. I replaced the pickup with a DiMarzio Model P though. FOR DEM CRAZY GOOD MIDS to pop. It sounds huge. I am, however, gassing hard for a 70's lawsuit Ric copy.

Gold anodized guard is definitely one of my favorites!

Psh that's not unfortunate. Vintage isn't always good, modern ain't always bad. If it rips, it rips

Yeah, man, I love it. I was playing a T-40 before it and the weight difference alone is a huge plus. I do miss the sound of the T-40 at times but the P is nothing short of sounding really good. I want my next bass to have a Rosewood fret board though.
I might have posted these before:

I had one of those for a minute. It was a siq bass and I bought it before the 2007ish price hike so it was like $450 brand new.

Swapped the neck from my Musicmaster onto the Squier Mustang. Needed consistency between both Mustangs and that meant rosewood fretboards. It also looks much better IMO.
Just need to set it up a bit more but it already sings when it's plugged in. The tuning pegs are very tough to turn, but it's impossible to find good replacements. Still worth it with the nice neck. It is broken in so well. Still debating between keeping the black pickguard or throwing the tortoiseshell on it. I love both looks.

That looks awesome!
Is the colour Fender's 'midnight purple'? Looks very similar. I picked that colour out for a custom guitar i'm having made for me. Purple sparkle is a god-tier finish.
