I just got back from a date with this awesome girl, which simultaneously awesome and sad. Awesome because she's a viola player who has amazing taste in books, music and movies. But sad because it was my first date ever and I'm 23. This post should probably be in here, the bad news thread, and the confessions thread. But mostly I'm happy because I don't feel so lonely, even if it was just one date.

It went well enough. Probably about as awkward as could be expected of a first date at 23 but it was fun. She would talk about the classical composers she was listening to, I'd talk about the noisey, post-rock bands I was into, and neither of us knew what the other was talking about

Thanks guys. Yeah the adult date is wierd, my bandmates all suggested minigolf too I thought minigolf sounded dumb. Conversationally I didn't know what to do, so I came up with some questions in case there was an unconquerable silence, it seemed to work ok, I only had to use two of the questions I came up with.

Which questions did you come up with?

Been on my first semi-date since my wife decided to end our relationship last night. Got piss-drunk, listened intently to what she was saying and tried to say something smart about whatever she was talking about. Went fine, she's all into me, but I think I'm not ready yet. Not even for fucking. Also this girl from yesterday is really smart and interestingly weird but not funny at all, and I like to laugh.
