Hey all
Been loitering around here for a few days and decided to register and join in at 3.30am. Ugh. I'm 30 and from Glasgow, Scotland. Been playing guitar for about 17 years...geez...that long?! I have adored effects pedals since the day I tried out a series of Boss rotboxes (probably a DS1 into an SD1 into something else) in a guitar store and nearly got thrown out for putting them all on at the same time. I fell in love with that screeching wall of feedback. I play a Fender Jazzmaster mostly, through a variety of ever changing setups, but some of my favs are the Fuzz Factory, MXR Blue Box and the omnipotent Big Muff, as well as numerous delays, reverbs and rotten modulation effects. Fuzz is my first love. I don't own any of Devi's lovely boxes just yet, but I have my eye on several and as soon as more stock arrives in the UK, I'll be snapping some up.
I play lots of different types of music, from Big Black-esque noise rock to SunnO))) influenced drone. My current music "project" is
Hospital Greys, but I'm not too impressed by it right now.
I also play occasionally in a drone band
L.I.N.E, which I think is better.
Hello to all, and Long Live the Fuzz!

Almost Kicked out for turning more than two effects on at once? I'd be pissed. hope you handled yourself better than I think i would've acted.

I was too busy laughing to really care how annoyed the store guy was, I would have been about 14 or something and it was my first taste of creating feedback and my two friends who were with me were sooo impressed. One of us ended up buying a pedal anyway, so he couldn't really complain too much, and the amp was fine....probably...

To update myself:
I've also become a certified hip-hop head, and have gotten really into acoustic blues recently. Those genres have actually become most of my listening lately.
Leopold & Loeb recorded an album, played a bunch of shows, and now the bassist/co-front has gone off to grad school, while I stayed in Chicago for law school. The drummer and I are now a two-piece calling ourselves The Silver Age.
Antero wrote:I'm AK. I'm... what, really? Not a student anymore. I guess I count as a philosopher now. Writer? Potential law student. Something like that.
I've been playing guitar for six or seven years. I'm primarily a vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and textural/noise freakout bastard. I like old amps and power tube distortion (main amp: Silvertone 1484), single coils with heavy strings, delay pedals that oscillate, and, of course, FUZZ! Yay! I play/ed in a band called
Leopold & Loeb, though that's on semi-hiatus as we're geographically dispersed at the moment.
I like a lot of music. Smart songwriters especially (Costello, Dylan, Newman, Bowie), and noisy rock (Les Rallizes Denudes, Velvet Underground, Boredoms, Gang of Four, Radiohead) and jazz (Coltrane, Holiday, Art Ensemble of Chicago) and a particular fondness for funk, soul, and R&B, especially strange old stuff you find in crates. I'm fucking obsessive, which earned me the nickname "The Music Fascist" at college.

i plan to just buy an amp to record with someday however i don't know shit about amps, my guitar is a fender reissue 1957....2007 edition if i write good songs i figure then iill be in a band...... it just depends if i can write or not. i use to write a lot when i was in high school.....read somewhere pumpkinpieces was talking about people requesting nirvana all the time, i can relate.........a friend of mine i went from middle school to high school with, he has long blonde hair like kurt and always wore the same tye dye shirt every day........he was the total opposite of me, im not dirty and he was, my hair was short and spiked, his long--whatever--we had high mutal respect for eachother music wise then we feel in love once with nirvana once we found their existence......freshmen year........latebloomers????? no we knew about them just didnt really give em a chance........anyway what im getting at is you never know whats going to happen next, my cat died 3 months ago from drinking some sort of poison. any way i had my own probelms and things sucked and i had to go to a different school and i basiclly didnt talk to my friend ever agin because of stupid personal bullshit............he dided 2006 had a seizure and dropped dead on the floor. its just weird because my best friend i barely talk to now (because of personal reasons as well) has everything, in a band signed, works a guitar center, has a great family, money everything.
i have a good family,and enoguh money.
my other freind had jackshit now gone
exscuse me i must do my depressive dance
because no one probably gives a fuck that i m typoeing this anyway, oh shit! goo goo dools! play that shit!
random facts
i always prefreed anightmare on elmstreet over the others

this is actual hard to make a list
i sell bootlegs soometimes that i trade for free!!! shh dont tell anyone!
if i had a heart i would want it to be like vernie's

Hi there! I'm an old ass****

Please feel free to take a peek and listen to some audio to my space on myspace

I'm a guitarist and I play since 1974! I'm from Milano (Italy). I played professionally and made 30+ records, toured intensively in Europe, but never visited US

Now I'm doing a more decent job, but I keep doing pro studio sessions.
I discovered DE effects not long ago and I think they're just KILLERS! I've recently bought an Eye Of God and a PEEP, just to add some noise to my pedalboard. I love those wide range of fuzz fxs, but I'm pretty set with it, owning a 10+ of assorted fuzz/dit/OD boxes... I'd love to try the Mangler, but I'm on a budget right now
A big hug to everyone
Ciao!

What's up. Long time lurker first time poster. I play bass and while I'm not in a band at the moment I'm in the process of getting a live hip hop band going with some friends and possibly getting a Clash-type band going with some other friends. I'm an effects junkie (as expected) and I plan to post more in the future. I honestly thought I had posted before given how often I lurk.

Hey what's up guys
I'm Nikita, I'm 26, originally from Moscow, Russia.
Playing guitar for a about 14 years (hmm, I guess I should've been much better player by now but...

).
Played in many bands from nin-inspired industrial to pop-punk, now in a power-pop-rock (kinda) band
Hmm, I think I just confused myself and everybody with those styles...
Anyway, just asked my friend to bring me four...
yes, FOUR D.E. fuzzboxes from US and can't wait till I'll be able to play USSR hymn on my US fuzz
Ahem, bad joke, sorry... But who knows...

p.s. shit, too many smilies - I guess I'm just too nervous... whatever....

Hey,
I'm a 22 year old guitar teacher / player (oh God I wish the player was first) from Toronto, Ontario, in snowy Canada. Been playing for 8 years or so, and I'm absolutely lovin' the fuzztones right now. Listening to Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, APC, to even newer Incubus and of course, everything Trent Reznor touches turns to gold. However, I'm also here to make sure everybody's heard of some great Canadian bands like Death From Above 1979. Those guys, with their sick fuzz-bass-synth-fizz-nasty are a huge influence on my idea of what makes great tone.
I play a bunch of guitars, mostly Strats, into a Marshall head pushed with a Diamond J-Drive overdrive pedal, but I'd like to get something different for another distortion sound, a little more industrial, harder and nastier. I don't own any Devi Ever stuff yet, but... well, let's just say I've been emailing the guys at Moog Audio (our only distributor) pestering them for a month or two.
cheers!

Im Jamie. I like stuff. Stuff made by dudes. Generally stuff made by dudes with guitars. Bigger amps and more of them is always better. I HATE tonequesters. I dont like figured maple. I play in noise and doom bands that nobody likes. I have a blog that nobody reads. I have alot of guns. I have alot of guitars. I am misguided and capricious beyond my years and believe there is still a chance for music. Vinyl only releases make me rage inside. I dont really hate everything but some people get that impression. This smiley seems appropriate
