Missed the last half of the first season of The Expanse when I dropped cable, going back to start it over on Amazon Prime

Re: The Netflix Thread
Finished HCF: S3.
I think it's safe to say that each season was about equal in quality, in my opinion.
I still think that S1 was the best, though. But S3 was really good. Especially since it made Joe seem like less of a prick than in the previous seasons.

I really liked the first two episodes of Iron Fist. I've been consistently disappointed since then

Been pretty lame so far, yeah.
But I am a completionist.

Re: The Netflix Thread
I don't usually fall down the Netflix rabbit hole, normally just rewatch the shows that I already know and like. It's pretty rare that I get into something new unless it peaks my interest. Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories hit me like a tonne of bricks.
I haven't seen a show that so genuinely cathartic in aaaaaaages, it's also made crave Ramen like noone's business.

This is me.Invisible Man wrote:Been pretty lame so far, yeah.

I started it last night, got through the first 3 eps.
The writing is not as solid as Daredevil, the editing is nowhere near as good either, and Luke Cage set such a high standard for cool that the story of an emotionally arrested rich white kid with kung fu powers suing his douchebag friends is pretty lame by comparison.
But, I am enjoying David Wenham, as well as the return of a certain secret society. So, we'll see.
If you look at it like the other Defenders series, theyre genre pieces and the main problem with this one is that its trying to straddle an 80s corporate flick and a kung fu film and its failing by not committing to one or the other.
Its still better than Arrow though, which is essentially the same story.

Re: The Netflix Thread
Anyone seen the new Dave Chapelle special? It's two parts or performances - not sure. Me and the gal watched the first last night - really good - and we are watching the second tonight.

Re: The Netflix Thread
We just did the same. I was slightly disappointed that there were some of the same jokes in the second one. But, on the whole, I really enjoyed both sets. The hardest I laughed was at the very end of the Austin show.

Patriot on Amazon was decent.
This is actually a really good review of it.
