How about using your cat/pizza avatar on a sticker or ss/bs all star chucks? The marketing potential is endless.....
if only i made that cat/pizza avatar i would have it on a sticker in a heartbeat. i need to just get a really great shot of one of my cats... they deserve internet fame.
Thank you for the ethical reminder about IP. However, an alternate interpretation might claim that since the cat/pizza avatar is of the intergalactic variety, all terrestrial copyright laws are null and void. Or that operating all ss/bs products beyond earth orbit would be exempt.

Speaking of which, if I ever get off this dungball of a planet I'm bringing my TAFM with me when I set up that cat/pizza all star chuck knockoff factory on Titan. If PY is released prior to liftoff of the reconditioned Buran I snagged on ebay, then that's coming with me as well.

In any case, all cat/pizza awesomeness should be public domain. You know, for the good of the species. :D

I was thinking, wouldn't it make sense having a second footswitch to activate the filter maybe?
Not to ask for more but more is more right?
What is the CV / expression in assigned to by the way, frequency and/or resonance?

more is more for sure!
that being said, i thought long and hard about this but feel like overall the gain stages and filter interact so heavily that having the filter on a stomp would likely make things less awesome. also, there are many settings that create very low and/or very high frequencies that potentially could damage a speaker if the volume is too high and i fear that being able to activate the filter separately will likely lead to something like that happening. CV is assigned to frequency - assigning it to resonance would require a bit more circuitry and i think overall it would be used in more niche situations so i made the call to keep it simple.

Ah, understood, I also wasn't sure about possible volume or frequency boosts.
CV assigned to resonance is definitely more of a niche thing and more tricky to map out in a useful way while frequency is surely bound to be awesome.
Does the triode / pentode switch give a big volume boost or is it more of a gain / distortion thing?
Oh yeah, and black disco sparkle?
Anyway, I'm pretty dang stoked for this!

alright. i'm happy with this new graphic - i kept it very similar. i may add a tiny little bit of pink/white over the blue triangle i think.
waiting on a few parts to come in for the proto board but i should have it up and running by monday night.

stoked for the demo!

Yeah a second stomp is most likely superfluous if you set the filter to HP or LP and turn the FREQUENCY knob fully open so it doesn't alter the signal.

just a little update - a few errors on my proto boards (of course) that i'm working out. dirt sounds exactly as it should but the filter and EQ need a few small tweaks.
going to build a whole fresh board up in the morning.

I, for one am thoroughly excited for this pedal. But I want you to get it right so it stays pretty & functions handsomely for years.
No rush, my d00d. Drive away all them gremlins and buster ass bugs. Haste makes waste :hobbes:

Also how do you intend to vent waste heat from the mini tubes? I have a few suggestions...which I'm happy to offer at the risk of preaching to the choir...but they could bear repeating.
There's the Guyatone/FLIP top-slotted, or grate style. The Kingsley pedals have their slots to the side, and Effectrode micro tube pedals have a series of holes on both sides to facilitate some flow.
The micro tube in my Effectrode PC2A doesn't noticeably heat the pedal enclosure, unless an overkill high current power supply is used. It stays comfy for a long time off the 500mA tap of my Cioks AC10; but gets quite warm around the tube-side of the enclosure when using the 1.5A wall wart for my phase-O-matic.

The side style is sufficient and prevents excess dirt/debris from finding its way inside... but they need proper placement to be most effective. I have yet to build any such pedal of my own but I've owned & used quite a few different designs and if one thing's for certain, excess heat is an enemy of longevity.

BRO! BRO!!! NO errors!!!!!!!! ;)

Nah that's totally understandable and ok by me!

Quick question re-payment. Is there a way to be invoiced for the remainder when it's due? Or is that how it's going to go down anyway? I ask because I want to pay down a CC and if I can do that now, and then re-charge this, I get an extended period to pay it off that I don't have with my balance. :)

I'm also very excited and love that you do this kind of thing dude! I'm pumped to hear the album as well. Are there anymore tracks we can check out??

The bass fuzz is a cultute vulture, which the pedal is based on.

yes and no to both statements.
the bass fuzz i *think* is actually (maybe?) a sansamp pushing the culture vulture but honestly i'm not 100% sure as john added it while we were gone. i asked him about it of course and i vaguely remember that being what it was. also, pedal is only "inspired" by the culture vulture! it's really like totally different. :thumb:

i'm driving them away. no worries.
as for heat - the tubes run on a very low heater voltage and they end up dissipating virtually no heat. :thumb:

i'm not invoicing anyone until i'm 100% confident in the build and that i will be able to complete production on schedule so you have a little time. obviously if i can't i'll be refunding folks or seeing if anyone is comfortable waiting until october to get the finished product. those are nuclear options though of course. i'm working hard to get everything squared away but time is definitely not on my side anymore.

I'll wait, this pedal is so up my alley you have no idea.

Since your distortion side is working as intended, what can you tell us about that? Like gain range and such. How saturated is it? How fast is it? Does it br00tz? :animal:
