This thread wasn't as difficult to read as I feared it to be, but maybe I am just getting older. That Kim Thayil story... I have read two of Billy's quotes from that out of context, and they seemed funny but now that I know the context, jesus he was a big baby during siamese dream.
No secret Gish-Machina II records hold a special place for me. And I really admire the drums/guitar work of the band as a whole. Billy Willy "WPC" Patrick Corgan though? Bleh, duh.
Also I think its funny he rails against the liberal "snowflakes" who struggle with identity such as pronouns/lgbt+ issues and he is being a giant baby insisting people call him William now.

Maybe he has brain cancer. Nah, always been a self indulgent megalomaniac. I have a hard time appreciating old SP songs anymore. Not sure if it is due to my feelings towards him or that nostalgia hold up. Maybe both.
I guess Billy's officially dead and Willy's here to stay.

I don't really have anything to add that hasn't been said already, but here is my take anyway - Pumpkins were amazing up through Machina, but everything since then has been a bad joke. And Corgan has become an insufferable d-bag for slagging off every musician he has ever worked with, along with all his other character flaws.

My gf listened to Billy on Shaun Keaveny's Show and Tell podcast and said he was totally not a sarcastic weirdo, just kinda down-to-earth and normal.
