They're cool, can get fuzzy and rowdy but it's just some good rock tunes that teeter on the mellow side from time to time with some unique instrumentation in terms of what the generic rock band might otherwise play. Sort of.

There's one way to put it, thanks for that! :)

Because I would probably have said "eeehm... psychedelic blues rock?"
And that they're supposed to be awesome live. With lots and lots of raw energy...

so just come to Köln a week early goroth :!!!:

They put out records on Colour Haze's label. That should be all the description you need, really.

Also Napalm Death + Melvins + Melt Banana feels like more of a mixtape than an actual bill but that show is going to be sick too.

You still going to see GISM? Heard anything about that?

Napalm Death and Melt Banana (even though they aren't as good as a two piece) is good enough for me! haha, oh well, they don't talk about shows in LA...missed a cool fest becuase they didn't advertise it until the day of (at least any place I am subscribed to all over the interwebs)

Fuck me sideways that's the same weekend as the boston Melvins/Melt/Napalm Date. :(

But no, I'm still trying to figure out Netherlands Ticketmaster before I buy plane tickets, take vacation, etc.. If anyone has any ideas/tips on how to make sure I'm paying for the right thing let me know.

Kinda funny that the ex-Napalm (2nd or 3rd singer) is going to be hosting it (the GISM thing) haha. Weird.

Wait, who did Melt Banana lose?

I feel like Napalm are one of those bands that get totally overshadowed by their alumni, which keeps people from appreciating them on the merit of their recorded output.

I've never seen Melt Banana because I'm a square.

Melt Banana lost the bass player Rika...and haven't had a recording drummer for over 10 years (only sit in touring ones...like Dave Witte)...but most of the recent albums have been drum machine (cell scape on I think...maybe not Bambi's revenge...but not sure...wikipedia says they haven't had an official drummer since 2000)

Now it is technically MB Lite or whatever...triggered loops and stuff. Kinda weird. The sound was terrible (but that was the Roxy's fault.). Torche put me in an irritated mood too.

So now MB is just Agata and Yasuko. It is Yasuko's band, so it will continue as long as she wants I guess (she is triggering everything from some wireless pad)

I guess I saw them with Eiji Uki the first time I saw them (was in Acid Mothers Temple...who knew?)

But they really need Rika and a touring drummer live, in my opinion.

I'm going to see B L A C K I E tonight, but I think I might be more excited about one of the openers, Show Me The Body.
Either way, I hope it'll be fun.
