Yeah, I've looked into both the mini heads. Tempting, seems cool, but the lack of 3 band EQ has kept me from seriously considering one so far.

If they have an fx loop just throw a decent EQ pedal of your choice in there. You could probably even put it on your board and have control of the amp tone at your feet. :idk:

they also have the bigger ones too.

i like the small form factor on the quilters...although it doesnt look great. I've heard from a few people who bought them that they sound amazing. However, they play rock and blues...so our experience may differ

I enjoyed my Beta Lead but as we all know that 70's era solid state stuff seemed a cut above.

As pope mentioned earlier... Seeing EHG and their Ampeg solid state love and the tone they get certainly lends an added credibility.

If that hasn't swayed anybody just peruse the Mauler Facebook and listen to all of SLK's demoes which certainly hold their own.

I bought a CR120 only to realize I can't use it because of its impedance requirements. Why the fuck did Orange make an SS head that you can't run at less than 8 ohms? Super bummed.

All Orange amps are like this, and agreed....it's a bit of a bummer.

Recently acquired a CR120 myself and now my band is running entirely solid state. The CR120 and a Marshall VS100 for me and our bassist is using a Beta Bass and a GK400RB.

Very awesome. and yea all orange is like that now. so complain why they are scared to make it lower. I didn't find it an issue since I have 16ohm cabs.

Most if not all Orange cabs are 16 ohm, so 16 or 8 minimum makes sense.

So what everyone is saying... empty should've done his research into what's well known.

The lesson is, the amp is bad and dangerous. Send to me for proper disposal, I'll waive all the usual HAZMAT fees.

I play a Marshall VS102r. I think they are great amps. They don't seem to get a lot of love out there. The corksniffers seem to give them so much shit. I'm actually looking for another. I want to build myself a head unit with two Valvestates in it. I keep looking but haven't found another local for a good price

I've never heard or played on one. Assumed they were not good. I love my Marshall Mosfet and pairs nicely with the CR. even at a bit lower wattage it has so much mid that it cuts strongly through in a good way
