My reverb weapons of choice are an EHX cathedral and an industrialectric Reverb Machine.

Fell in love with the I/E verb in the tour box, my production build should be showing up any day now.

Been playing a lot with cascading the two channels of the cathedral. Need to get one or two tb loops so I can do so properly and make such a config a main stay on my board. Possibly set it up so the two channels remain in series but at different point in my chain, likely with various dirt in between.

Doubt it'll cover the same territory as the afterneath, but I've been imagining jerry rigging a cheap multi delay solution. Somewhat inspired by the dba ghost echo - 3x micro MIC delays (donner party? Whatever the cheap mooer alt is called) with a passive volume ctl, all in tb loop - ghetto ghost echo. Could be a fun experiment for approx $100. If I end up really digging it, get a custom drilled enclosure and call it a day.

Freeze was cool but it got froze off by an Ibanez echo shifter. First delay I've ever really jived with.

When I comes to reverbs, nothing better than some real spring verb. My Vulcans verb is crazy cathedral organ huge.

Also, does anyone have experience with the Raptio in freeze mode? I want it for the glitch, but the freeze mode is also good.

I have both, and I think a video on the toobz with a comparison section.
In short, they sound very different. Both hold whatever you play, including chords, but the raptio sounds nasal and reedy while the freeze is more like an organ. based off the freeze function alone I like the freeze better, but the stutter is an awesome feature, so the raptio wins.

I'm not familiar with the Vulcan but spring is great but it's just one particular flavor of reverb. Plate is great but different just like modulated, octave and all of the others. They all have their own place in the right kind of music.

I'm pretty sure the freeze works the same as the Cathedral's infinite mode, so it will basically pick up whatever you're throwing in it at the moment, then repeat it very strangely. So yes, it will pick up chords.

It's more like a snapshot of a chord but if you drag it out as an arpeggio it won't do that.

Can I borrow 4 grand from someone and never have to pay it back so I can buy a Swarmatron? It might be the coolest drone instrument ever.

Wow, just googled the Swarmatron, sounds really cool. The price is accordingly though, too bad I don't think I'll ever own a piece of gear that costs that much.

Speaking of oddball drone instruments. Has anyone ever tried to DIY a waterphone/aquaphone?

Yeah, that's significantly more than my double neck. If I wasn't looking into getting a new car soon I'd consider blowing my tax return on it but I'm not sure how often is actually use it and how durable it is. Their stuff is so cool and strange that I doubt it'll hold up to daily use.

I've always wondered how well a contact mic would work with one of those. A waterphone through some crazy effects seems like a cool idea.
