I'm not sure they'd be as gross looking if they weren't also extremely expensive.

True, the slap in the face of a pedal that looks THAT shitty for that much money is what really makes it. I'd be fine with a pedal that looked like that if it sounded awesome and was actually cheap, but how the fuck does cornish get away with this? People who buy his pedals are idiots as far as I see it.

He knows his clientele, and he's gotten to the point where he can charge what he wants for what he makes, and people will buy it. I don't get it, but it's the nature of capitalism. DEMAND->SUPPLY->NOT GIVING A SHIT

I've seen whole boards of the Cornish Cult. 3 of the same drive circuit stacked with a buffer and a clean boost. It sickens me to know you could pay for a nice used car with how much a few of those pedals cost. Not to say that there aren't any other pedals or guitars or amps or other gear out there that don't cost just as much or more. But damn. YOU TAKE A DD7, 'MOD' IT, AND SELL IT FOR LIKE $1000

That said, if I was a tech for a big stage/massive show and I had to crawl around with a flashlight in my mouth if a patch cable went awry, I think I would appreciate the Cornish labelling system.

True.
Plus, even though it is criminally overpriced, it's probably high quality.
When your sole responsibility as a big-name band member is to stumble out of the tour bus, be an ass for a few hours and then start playing, it's crucial that your toans not fail mid-show. If any aspect of that wailing solo goes awry, you might not get THE BLOW JOB at the end of the night.

I want to make a SHO with a volume knob and Gain knob, house it in an aluminum radioshack enclosure and add a fancy badge, POUR hot glue all over the fucking inside and then make a really vague website and charge $400 for it

I'll also have a toggle switch that's gooped to hide the fact that it's only soldered to the board and not actually a part of the circuit and label it 1+2 so that people can choose which mode they like more and then I can make seperate 1+2 pedals for $250. I'VE GOT A PLAN FUCKERS
