I used to do it a lot. I don't any more, or at least not undividedly - but I'm kind of in a semi-meditative mindset at all times now.
I missed a week or so of working out recently, but now I'm back at it even harder. I've been working out a lot - and then throwing additional sets in between pretty much any other task. About to go to work? Do a set of curls. About to play a game? Do some pushups. It's a commercial? Do a set of tricep presses. Etc.
I'm still on the way to that all-time meditative mindset. I'm learning, but I should discipline myself more to get better results.
Have any tips how to train discipline?
Also, congrats on determination!

As part of my "take the next term off to get myself together" plan, I'm trying to do the whole eat-right-and-exercise deal. I'm 5' 11" and about 165, so I'm not overweight or anything, but I'm incredibly out of shape. I'd actually like to gain 10-20 pounds, 'cause I'm kind of scrawny now. I did cross country, track, and wrestling in high school, but that all stopped once I got to college.
I started "running" again this week, by which I mean jogging for a while, then walking for a few minutes once I got the point where I couldn't breathe, then jogging again. Back when I ran, I had a few routes planned out around my neighborhood, the shortest of which was 2.3 miles according to google maps. I'm happy because today was the first day I could do the whole thing without stopping. Sure, I was barely under 10 minute miles, which is downright pathetic, but it's still progress. I also checked out the local Y, and it's been completely renovated over the past year with all new machines and stuff. It only costs $1 a day and there's hardly anyone there during regular work hours, so I'll be joining up once January 1st comes around.

So, how y'all doin'? I've been going to the gym ~5 days a week this month, doing a mix of cardio and strength training stuff. I definitely feel better than I did, and I've made some progress endurance and strength-wise, but gaining weight has been surprisingly difficult. I've been eating a fuckton of food (essentially 5 full meals a day, once every 2-3 hours, and I only used to eat lunch and dinner) but I barely weigh any more than I did a month ago, maybe a pound or two. I was kind of hoping to gain a mix of fat and muscle, but whatever, as long as I'm healthier.
Kinda considering getting some protein powder since I don't think I'm getting anywhere near the recommended levels for muscle gain. Are protein powders/other supplements actually worth it?

Ugh. I am trying to get back into it, but it is so damn hard to start. I am mainly trying to eat less crap and sleep a bit more. I also want to work out 3 days a week, but with kids and work, that is so hard. My sister convinced me to go yesterday, but I was pretty lazy about it.
i am going to try to go tomorrow during the day.
Boy, I sound so fucking apathetic about the whole thing.

I said "fuck it" and my fat ass has accepted my current state(220lbs). Heaviest I've ever been. I stop and my gal starts. So, I'm quite proud of her. But now I have to honor my vow to quit smoking. And that MAY not be that bad. Cigarettes have been making me shit more frequently than I care to lately.

Lost almost 90 lbs since October 2010. 12 inches off the waist, 10 off the chest, but still trying to work on the gut!

Do more, like throughout the day. There's a commercial? Do pushups. You're waiting for something to microwave? Do pushups. Your computer is starting up? Do pushups.
Also, working your abs, back, shoulders, etc. will boost the number of pushups you can do, so give those some attention also.

Fuck yeah!
I'm going for like 40 pounds. I lost it a few years ago, then got a job at a restaurant and the free ice cream/spinach+artichoke dip murdered me. I'm goin fer it again.
Well...just say that your swimming balanced out the donuts.

I've been wanting to start lifting weights and running again. I want to keep it up long enough to really get a sex god build. Basically, this.

But I don't have the money to go to a gym.
I have the genetics to build and maintain that kind of shape, I just need to
get there.
