I guess for the Strymon fan boys this is a win. :idk:

If it's a decent clean amp/cab sim I'll be fine with jumping on this to get a different flavor than my Cvlt Deluxe. :snax:

I think it looks pretty interesting, but maybe not for $400?

I wonder why it’s so much. My first thought is it’s because they licensed IRs and they’re paying significant fees for that.

Probably, but the argument I've been playing with in my head (because I am genuinely interested in this) is that it's a cab sim that I don't have to plug in to my iPad or laptop, and I don't have to have a preamp pedal for, so it *TECHNICALLY* is two amp requirements in one (cab, amp), and counts as two pedals.

Yup! any preamp and a cabzilla is immediately more than this. And from the demo it sounds pretty killer, specially with the crazy room IRs they have. I'm actually starting to edge towards this. I'll probably wait it out until it starts going on the used market and then pounce. :snax:

Clock sync i/o is an interesting feature add. Not the first thing I'd think of for a droner, but giving the gate features, a potential fun expander :snax: I do quite like the sound of the oscillators on this one - very solid....

Xvive's Memory Man-inspired pedal is finally making it to stores. They've oddly labeled it to the V21. (because they retooled it without it ever really getting a broad release??? So it's really more like the V2(1) or V1(2.O). :idk:)

Current advertised prices: $139/€119/£102.77. I would imagine if you wait a while, they may be available on eBay (via China distributors) for -20/-30%.

https://www.thomann.de/gb/xvive_v21_echoman.htm

I think it's somewhat less noisy than the lo-fi Memory they did in a larger enclosure. Without hearing it in-person, I'm not sure how it stacks up against any of the MM series though.

UVI has released a tribute to the rare Prophet 10. Introductory price is 49 USD/EU. Their (required) free workstation is OK. It's not as simple as using standalone Arturia programs, but after you get past the licensing and registration part (10-15 minutes) you can be making interesting stuff. I have their tribute to the Korg PS-3200 and it has some deep FX options, along with an exotic arpeggiator. The preset implementation is meh---you save files in external folders, rather than in the app itself, which I don't love. Arturia's implementation of this and the ability to assign genre tags & personalized notes is much better. UVI is a unique company, though, in that they specialize in software homages to fairly obscure synths (Voyetra 8, Moog Apollo, Elka EK-44, Digital Keyboards Synergy).

Elta is inching closer to releasing their patchable 50-oscillator drone synth. I'm skeptical that having 50 oscillators (versus 20) will make much difference, but I'm intrigued to hear more and to see the final asking price.

New budget MOTU interfaces, class compliant and with custom drivers: https://cdm.link/2019/11/motu-m2-m4-audio-interfaces/
Someone in the comment mentioned DC-coupled outputs for those who want to send computer-generated CV to their modulars.
$170 for two channel, $220 for four.
