i have the barefaced super12 and just adore it. easily the best i've ever played through
This is a bold statement coming from a guy who I know has owned multiple rigs =D

I've been really enthralled over Barefaced cabs. Might have to just sell all my current cabs to pick one of those 2x15's up! Tasty

I rocked a first version MB2-500 (500 watts at 4ohms). I loved it's clean tone,...very hifi and GK and I really like the GK tone. I struggled to get it to take gain well though. Too much fuzz/OD/Feedback and it would go into safe shutdown mode in order to keep from frying the poweramp. That was my only gripe with it. It was an excellent grab and go amp for the more straight ahead/clean tone is all that's needed gigs I was playing a few years back.
I traded it with Behndy for his Drasp DL-4. Not sure if he is still rocking it.
That said,...I'm gonna start saving up for a Mesa Boogie 400+ for mah bass rig.
No problems with gainy stuff here. I was hitting it with some massive octave/fuzzed out filter sweeps through the Xerograph and the amp was barely warm. I wish could translate that feeling via a recording. At one point I just started laughing to myself.

I think poor Volume and EQ discipline was the crux of my problem,...and the fact that my 4x10 is 4ohms limited my options. I'm willing to bet if I was able to pump an 8x10 with that amp I wouldn't have had any issues.

Hey folks,...just thought I'd ask here,....
For your 6L6 needs,....how do you all feel about the JJs? I want to replace the stock tubes in my Pignose G40V. I've heard good things about JJ (also heard good things about Ruby Tubes) but thought I'd gather up the ILF's opinion since I consider it trustworthy.
Any other brands I should consider. Budget isn't really my concern,...but I do think it's kinda dumb to put a premium priced tube in a not so premium amp. I think anything is going to be an improvement over stock. As far as I can tell the amp has a fixed bias.
Also while we are at it,...any recommendations for a replacement 10 inch guitar voiced speaker? I think I need one that is 8ohms; although there is an output for a 4ohm speaker as well as the 8ohm (which is what the stock speaker is plugged into) but I'm not sure if I should use that or if there is even a 4ohm guitar voiced 10 inch available. Just not exactly clear on what impedance the amp can handle.

JJs are fine.
Do you want earlier or later breakup with the Pignose? Middy or more full and flat?
My first guess would be either an Eminence Ragin' Cajun or maybe a Warehouse G10C or G10C/S.
If you decide you want a Ragin' Cajun, I have a totally new one I'd sell ya cheap.

Should be great with RAT and fuzz

I've been in a band with those amps a few times and I always thought they delivered a pretty good low end!
