the problem with bsg is that they went out of the way to be "wow, think" instead of ending on a note that suited the themes of the show throughout - personal identity, finding a homeland.
Bringing back
that character was a big mistake coz they wrote themselves into a big corner, trying to build up some cylon mythology, way too jj abrams. the show deserved better but what can you do.
basically, if the finale had ended halfway through
with the shot of the fleet flying off into the sun
i'd have thought much better of it

Oh yeah. I'm not saying I wouldn't. I just can't be that disappointed about the whole 4 seasons of mostly very good TV because the end kinda sucked. They can't retroactively spoil my enjoyment like that.

Yeah, so Hilda is pretty great. My boy loves it, and it's a decent watch for adults. I like the strange soundtrack. Lots of blips and echoey goodness

The First, Hulu. Sean Penn as Sean Penn. Worth it for the constant barrage/massage of Colin Stetson.

The way Bull dealt with Annabelle Attanasio's leave is bullshit.

Norsemen is fun, kinda like The Office meets Game of Thrones.

This has been on my list to watch for awhile. I don't know why, but I want to finish watching Vikings first. I think I'm half a season behind on Vikings and there's a new one coming out soon.
MrNovember wrote:Warpsmasher wrote:Just finished season 1 of The Mist. It's a good take on it for sure, but it's almost comical how much they ripped from Ozark. The visual style, the family secrets, one loner chick on drugs character, gay guy turns out a hater, etc. etc. It just goes on and on.

I really struggled through the first episode. It took me two attempts to watch. There's just too many cliche characters and events, and way too much drama for me. I came for a horror show not family drama. I really hope that goes away a bit now that the Mist is actually here
So I finally committed to the Mist and it has gotten a lot better. I am pretty tired of the drama surrounding the daughter and mother, but everything else is pretty good.
I also just saw that there's a new season of Fargo up on Netflix! Going to watch that after I burn through the rest of the Mist.

David Thewlis is GREAT in that, as is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but most everything else about this season falls flat for me. They got the tone of the original right in Seas 01, but 02 and 03 are uhhh...I dunno...mixed bags.

Jesus, I watched like two more episodes and it's gotten so ridiculously bad again; the drama and the cliches are just too much

Is it -all- bad?
I'm skeptical of the Netflix horror shows, but I suspect I should probably watch one or two. I'll check hill house out

It’s not very “scary”. But it develops nicely. It seems kind of wishy washy on what it actually wants to be about, but I’ve spent my time watching worse piles.
