...... just downloaded Torchlight for the 360. point and click dungeon crawling maps really well to a controller. i'm surprised.

it's a straight Diablo rip off, but with different monster types and loot structures and a way different cartoony cell shaded feel.

FUN.

Duuuuuude. I really liked TL. I mean i kinda wish it had a sense of humor ooor....something. But it was fun definitely.

I really like torchlight, I find it funny how it just.. IS diablo, but since I used to love diablo as a kid having a nicer graphics, updated version is cool. Does it really work on console? Seems like it would be weird.

Got Torchlight recently, but still haven't played it. Supposedly there is a sequel coming out.

I liked Torchlight at first but it got boring really quickly when winning every fight just meant throwing down 2 traps and watching them murder everything.

With online multi-player too I believe.

Are traps really good? I got to level 30ish with a wizard and a fighter, then stopped playing to play other games and haven't gone back to it yet. Really need to.

Traps are RIDICULOUS. Or turrets or whatever they are. I think I used one that slowed enemy movement and the others did damage...I can't remember if that was a tower defense game or Torchlight though.

Unless they patched the game and made some changes to them, all I ever did was toss them into an area full of guys, sit back and shoot people to get it over with faster. They don't even have to be in line of sight. Just throw them into the room ahead and it'll be cleared. Unless I was fighting a boss or something I rarely took much damage. And this was on hard 'cause normal is way too easy.

Also, the reflection shot is/was insanely powerful. There's some combination of like reflection/piercing/explosive stuff that wrecks shit.

yah. i started with a Tank and am running an Archer now. i eschewed the traps for the bow/gun powerup tree. i moved it to hard right away too. it's been a lot of fun.

my burning annoyance with dungeon crawlers is i've NEVER completed an armor set. and i love the idea. but..... yeah. doesn't happen.

That kept happening to me in Torchlight, I'd get really close, then suddenly find a piece of armour that's way, way better like the start of another set. Doesn't bother me that much because it's better armour.

Does anyone else have the compulsion to pick up EVERYTHING? I have literally not left a single item in the game, gotta sell it aaaaaaaall.

Yes, I think for me this started with Castle of the Winds, where you HAD to sell everything you found just to buy a fucking glove or belt.
And even then they would only give you a few armor points. A new weapon was like a godsend, but usually you'd get killed before that.
...and I had to walk uphill both ways just to play the game!

In Japanese RPGs, I NEVER use the super powerful healing items. In Final Fantasy games you get like 10 megalixers per playthrough. I'm always afraid to use one, thinking that I"ll need it for the next boss or whatever...but that boss never comes.

That describes me in every game with any items. There are probably a few games I think I'm bad at when really I'm just unable to use good items.

I hoard shit like crazy in RPGs...I try to avoid using items completely just in case I ever need them. I rarely do.

Finally playing dead island, I'm like lvl11 with the speedy blade chick, but I have the most fun throwing things...I wonder if I should start over as that douchebag thrower specialty guy

I'm running around with about 430 pounds in Skyrim. My armor weighs 8 and my weapons 10. Guess what the rest is.
