Been a while since I last dropped in:
Ax: sweet faceplate dude. Lao did a swank job on that.
Summit: looking poon, dude!

Ok I was looking at the Superbass too and couldn't tell if the Pharaoh or Superbass would be better. I'll be on the lookout for one.
Both are good, I prefer the Rev.
Personal preference, esp. with a clean amp.

which one are you thinking about? I'm really considering this one...
i've also got a pair of cream humbuckers that i have set aside for them.
I've had my eye on the black/gold one. They are both 220s so should be exactly the same other than color.
Holy crap, that white looks poon.
They are sex in black, too.
I really want an AM

And I just found this older model.
Checking this now.

Anyone playing either of the last two combinations I mention?
I used to split my orange 212 with an ampeg 410 for giutar. Sounded tits.

Looks like I'll have a lot of fuzz for sale. Still holding on to a few for my eventual bass board (when I have the funds for a bass rig).
I just wanted to thicken up the bass/lo mids a little bit, thinking Pharaoh might do a good job? I'm just looking for a fuzz to use a slight bass boost and maybe add a little extra character.
That's what I do with my matamp, just have a doomidrive on all the time, gain at almost minimum, volume about halfway. I could dial in something similar with a pharoah, but I found that it cut out a bunch of high end when I would run other stuff into it (although the only fuzz I generally use is a superfuzz) That's cool if you want that, but I missed the "hair" the doomidrive lets through (while still having masses of everything else).

Also, totally got kicked out of the FCOAW for asking a question about cabs
I've been wanting to pick up a 100 watt one to go with my 50 watt, but they've been harder for me to find AND the prices have been climbing lately. What'd you pay for yours, if you don't mind me asking?
£400 broski
I know of a 100 watter in the UK selling as well for the same price
nice man...those amps are great. I was playing through a 30w combo version with the original Fane for a few days when we recording some tracks...and these sound so nice and they take pedals better than most other amps.

hey man...that AM looks great as well...your Iceman...is that an IC400 or IC700 or something else?
i've just seen an IC400 listed on ebay for about the same price as the AR...i've had the IC700 before, but wasnt sure about quality of the IC400. You had any experience with that?

I have two Icemen. The recent (05) IC400 and my floydie is a 94 IC350. Both are great but both are really different.
I'm gonna sell the 350 to fund uni textbooks soon, but only 'cause its really set up for metals, and I don't do too much metalling these days (invader neck pup, dimebucker, floyd rose, thinner neck profile).
To be honest, the finish on the 400 is a little lacking (the binding looks like crap and the paint isn't durable) but the neck is fucking perfect for me.
I think the neck is pretty much identical to the AR, and the inlays are really sweet.
I've got a duncan jazz in the neck and a distortion in the bridge and its pretty killer tones-wise.
It'd be a tough call splitting the two, but if you dig Icemen, the 400 is definitely one of the better ones.

thanks man really appreciate the advice...i have a set of pickups ready for it which should be great sound wise...and i'm always kicking myself for selling my old Iceman. Also, i love the AR, but now that they are doing it at such a low price point, i shouldnt have a problem picking one up second in the next year if i'm still craving one. But these IC400's are pretty rare these days.
i just got the guy to agree to do a deal on it...so the price is really good too...i think i will have to go with that one!

Just adding some fridges ;-) the remaining emperors are going no where, my Matamp cab though I'm not extremely attached too. I would trade that for Matamp / EA bass cab or green 4x12. I got a decent tax return so I'm building a bass rig again.

yeah, It started out kind of like here, good people, good knowledge, lots of amp porn. Somewhere along the line I blinked and it became invaded by hoards of schecter endorsed, highly opinionated "experts" who give advice like "you can just rewire your 16 ohm cab to 8 ohms, just connect all the speakers in a row"
Some, like Moose, are fighting the good fight and trying to set people straight. Ultimately I hope some of those dudes get an education or at least learn to fact check before they give advice. I know I have not always been 100% right about things and I appreciate the folks who have set me straight (or tried to, I can be as stubbornly stupid as anyone) so I'm sticking around so I can at least back up the experts, who have been shouted down by the moronic hoards a few times.
