The question is, did you ride home with it?

No.

I was too scared to go in for fear I'd walk out with it, but I'm still curious. So, I think I'm gonna go back today to take a closer look. I've a feeling it's gonna too busted up to be worth it. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Soon...made some changes just to make things easier (was having some volume problems...basically taking the judder and DOD 680 off for the DD-5 and DD-6).
I'm going to wait until Nov 14 to post my "board"...giving myself 10 days to finalize choices and then packing everything up and going for it...haha (going to limit myself and fight scatterbrain).

Stupid pawn shop. Not ever a chance I'll be riding home with that guitar.
Turns out it's an actual 1973 Gibson Marauder. Horribly refinished. Horribly. And they're asking $800 for it.
"That's a little out of my price range."
"How much you wanna pay for it?"
"What's the lowest you can go?"
"I can take $50 off."
Ugh. No, thank you. "Still outta my price range." I was hoping for a $100 Japanese copy.
On top of that, I picked it up to play it and the action was stupid low. So low that it indicated neck problems. Double no.
Seems to be a large, well run pawn shop too. With pricing like that, I wonder how long it's been hanging there. You'd think they'd wanna sell things.

Dealt with an attitude like that with that Mustang we test drove...had some problems and the guy wanted 10k...he took 500 off...said we'd be willing to go 7500 (8000 after fees which is still too high in my opinion...but my wife has the moneyz)...he got pissed.
They are waiting for the impatient buyer with a ton of money to just buy something...pawnshops have gotten bad...(used to be good places to buy tools...now they want 200 for stupid old makita cordless drills or 250 for a paint mixer angle drill and all probably stolen despite the police check...come on). eBay has ruined them haha.
I think a bit of it is they are hoping for trades that get them profit. And parents that don't know anything (my mom got ripped off like that...got me a purple ariel bass with active and peizo pickups...thing was awesome...but it needed power for the preamp///didn't work at home (I was like 12 and it was my first guitar)///took it to another shop and traded it for a Cruize p-bass terrible thing). eff em...junk stores are where the finds are these days...
If it wasn't shitty, you'd have to buy more stuff to bargin and that sucks haha. You know all this though, just wanted to rant about pawn...haha
Go salvage a bunch of Lenny Kravitz cds and packard bell computers and try to trade them as "vintage" items for the guitar...haha...when they say "no", just leave them there.

Yeah, people and/or pawn shops are always asking much more than things are worth. So greedy.
This pawn shop's not in a great neighborhood. Sure, the neighborhood is currently undergoing gentrification, but I still can't imagine anybody laying down that kinda cash for a guitar like that. The guy who showed it to me was pretty proud that he knew it was a '73. I don't know how he knew that. Especially since I didn't think they were made that early. I didn't look for a serial number because I'm not remotely interested in that guitar anymore. Yeah, anyway, that pawn shop has a bunch of guitars, but at least now I know they're overpriced and in bad shape.

That is probably part of the reason it is high...trying to capitalize on the incoming "hipsters"...you know, those kids that want to get away from suburbia on their parents' dime...
Another thing to note, is that sometimes construction brings in outside people that scour the shops for "deals"...my old plumbing crew would do that...so maybe they judged you and gave you the outsider price and they would cut a regular customer a better deal.
The few times I have gotten deals, I would buy a of things, slightly overpaying for several common items for one big payday. Used to get rare as crap video games like that...like I will take this box for $60...knowing that only on thing in that box is worth it (like $100 or something) and have a bunch of crap to flip or give away...record collector style haha.
Just a quick google tells me that you are right (wern't intro'd until 74 and production offical in 75)...got into a arguement over stanley planes like that with a dude once haha (tried telling me a 1940s plane was made in 1880...like I have the 1880 on,,,it has flowers on it, this crap don't). Swap meets are getting bad too with all the salvage culture and making things "decorative".
Heck, the old record store where we practiced made more off records selling to interior designers and business for decoration (they usually threw the actual record away) then they did selling records to music fans...kinda sucks and is sad...so there is always the hope for some of these "junk/salvage/discovery" businesses that some person will use it for decoration. (My front door was like that. Thing was trash, but they were hoping to sell it to a prop shop or theatre company...but I was a good customer so they passed it on to me for 1/4 what they charged their special customers haha (hollywood, studios etc)).

Yeah, nowadays everyone's an expert and they want top dollar for everything regardless of condition. Much harder to find a bargain.

Looking forward to it, duder.

Boss Slicer came in the mail today. Great, great pedal. Perfect for chopping stuff up into rhythmic drum style stuff. Closer and closer I get my Drone Commander to being a weird drum machine.

I traded for one the other day and have the same opinion. Have you tried it in stereo? The circle harmonizer thing is fucking awesome.

Questions.
Can you make custom patterns?
Store preset in it?

I don't think I really set it up correctly in my interface so I didn't hear the true effects of the stereo modes. I'll figure it out soon enough.

No custom patterns nor presets no. You get a lot of options between the 5 banks and patterns though. But it does have a MIDI input, not sure what that will control though.

I totally forgot it has MIDI!
I hope it receives CC and notes.

It has (Tempo) written under it so I don't think so
Will do a soundcloud demo of it later when I get in the mood to show it off.
