probably going to do double time as an acoustic board for some stuff
FZ-2 is awesome as a fuzz and I will just switch it over to a boost for acoustic stuff
Not able to use a flanger in any way that doesn't sound kindof cheesey so I may be swapping it for a chorus

That's going to be your acoustic board?

You, sir, are DOIN' IT RIGHT! :thumb:

It's actually not in the loop of the amp. It's the last in the chain out front. I haven't tried it in the loop, though I hear tremolos sound a little more pronounced placed in the loop of an amp. But that's a good idea. I might try it later.

Casavettes wrote:damnit that sounds really good.

It has been one of the most surprisingly musical and useful pedals I've bought since...the Randy's Revenge in 2010. I do wish the modulation side was a little more pronounced though. The vibe sounds are really good, but they get lost in a mix. It would be nice to have more control over the blend.

Well, it's back to the drawing board...for ambient/experimental noise rocky shiz.

Chain is:
Saturn V > WOW Signal > Shape EQ > Pluto Switch TB Loop (w/1981 DMM) > OD-880 > 1976 Ram's Head > Street Sweeper > Tremolessence > TF-1 > Spring Chicken

EX-P (reverb), EV-5 (tremolo rate), Tremolessence in Hold mode. Shape EQ is always-on and functioning as a buffer.

Regret selling my Lofi Loop Junky as predicted; and now GASing for another looper...and this time one with some layering options...

I tried to replace the (stock) DMM but it just aint happening.
No echo/delay or combination of echo/delay & modulation (that I've tried) can fux with it.
Feedback is set to get about 30-35 repeats when digging in, and they grow progressively dirty and harmonically richer while hovering on the brink of oscillation...even when backing off.

Anyone know of another MN3005-based echo (at potential voltage) where the white noise from longer delay times is usable and even desirable with both clean and even dirty amps? :idk:

Awesome collection of pedals, mate. I thought I'd just mention that I recently picked up the new TC Electronic Ditto Looper and I really like it. I recommend it for those with a compact pedalboard and don't want to pay $400 on a looper.

Nice!

We have in common seven of the same pedal on our boards :)

I really want a Sparkle Motion.. but between the regular Fuck, the mini, and a Driving Notion, I think I have those sounds kinda covered... maybe.. maybe.

I could easily use my Sparkle Motion and Fuck together on the same board and never sense an overlap.

backwards, how is the Xerograph? do you play guitar or bass?

Xero DLX is absolutely incredible, huge range of subtle to extreme filter sounds and the clean blend and expression input are super useful.
That does come at a price though, it is a massive pain in the ass to tweak. When i first got it i probably destroyed a good portion of my hearing from setting the resonance too high
I play guitar, but it would work at least as well if not better on bass.

That's why I sold mine shortly after buying it. I really needed something that didn't have those extreme tones so easily accessed by mistake. I'll be trying a Prometheus DLX next.

Thats how I have my DMM set up, with the delay time max, low blend. I have it as an always on ambiance pedal rather than a traditional delay. Love dat stuff. And like you said, I can't find another delay that gets the same mojo going. Then again, I'm not really looking to squeeze anymore pedals on my board.

I like it alot
I have the supernatural and this is equally awesome in some respects

some great verb tones
trails is huge for me as well

it's pretty easy to dial in great sounds with it and i like that the knobs click, my only problem with these pedals is I don't love the switch feel.

dooooooooooooooom board for my dooooooooom band. My base tone is the megalith and ghost echo (always on). Super fuzzy, bassy, slightly scooped - the ghost echo compliments it perfectly with some depth and ballz! Then i add in different flavs of delay (noise with the dfx9 and warm repeats with the DT), RRR (for super washy verbed out to the depths of hell TOANZ), the flanger (for super slow flanges with the heavy fuzz - super slooooooooooowww)

similiar yet different. The monarch is always on!! With my amp it gets pretty dirty but not too fuzzed out. The overdriven verbed out, with the DT always on for warmth analog goodness. Then when I want to get really wild and dissonant, I'll blast on the FZ-2. Shit gets fuuuuucccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkeeed.

MOAR delay and fuzz to come!! I can get into outterspace and back...i think i need MOAR fuzz though.

Someday I'm going to jam with you.

Thanks for the love & heads-up; the Ditto does look intriguing.

:thumb: Yeah its so much more than an echo/delay...and everything it does, it does with style.

I've been reading a year's worth of user testimonials on the El Capistan; how it can do a *convincing DMM* (whatever that means) but have yet to get my hands on one to try busting the myth...as to say I'm skeptical is an understatement.

It's a pedal that truly embodies the phrase "all electronics are not created equal" and while any dmm's power supply/chip combination is capable of getting you there, some just have that extra something which makes them conspicuously special.
I don't understand how modelers can recreate that.

TOTALLY! it is going to be an intense jam from the outer realms of space. The weather is starting to get nicer - it might be time for the ILF Philly meet up. Either way if you ever want to take a trip down here - you definitely have a place to crash and a place to play muzak! Hit me up brother!

uuhhhh...YEAAAAH!!! Sorry I haven't hit you up recently, I've just been working my butt off crafting espresso drinks into masterpieces. But we will get together soon and I'll let you try the monarch, fuck, ghostyecho, whatever really!!

The monarch and fuck are two completely different, awesome beasts. Recently, I've been really digging overdrive (SHUDDDERR, HUH NO FUZZZZZZZ - I"M GOING CRAZY!!), the monarch gets so full and crunchy if you want it to. It is very dynamic to your picking style and it stacks like a champ!!! Sometimes, I use it as a dirty boost or to tweak the EQ of my signal. Now the FUCK, I have been diming out the gain knob for a serious wall of sound. I love my momentary crackle, I could never do the mini because the crackle function is too freaking awesome. Some say it isn't very practical in their musical escapades, well it is right up my darkened alley!! it adds those textures of grit! I'm all about the experimentation. But the monarch and FUCK both have some serious cool to them which justifies me owning both!!
