For a short while I was bugging Kyle to build a Blackout flanger that sweeps as slow as the Whetstone. Never happened.

Satan to answer your question.

But really thanks Summit! I have been mangling my tone to get some really sick, sinister sounds. I have been mostly on my own experimenting on noise and drones but with my new guitar I have been wanting to actually "play" the guitar in a more traditional sense so I have been stripping down my "board" to bare essentials - Tuner - Fuzz - Reverb - Delay. It helps me focus on my chops, instead of twisting knobs to see what F'ed up noises and sounds I can create.

In the doom band, even though I have all those pedals (not that many but a decent amount (in the ILF scheme of things  )), I mainly rely on the megalith and GE for my guitar tone. Everything else serves a specific purpose at a specific moment in a song. I try to use only what I need - when I need it.

With the the goth band board, my role as the guitar player is more secondary, in the grand scheme of the sonic landscape, to the thriving rhythm of the bassline and the drum machine - hence less fuzz and more atmosphere with the delay and verb. I try to fill in the holes and create a new, unique rhythmic layer. I try to manipulate the guitar into a confined, ghostly, very secondary layer of ambience, filth and space.

But really what I wanted to say is - FUUUUCCCKING FLAAAAANGEE IN THE FEEDBAK LOOOOOP IS DA GREATESSSSTTTT!!!
Fuzz, reverb, delay.

Nice!

We have in common seven of the same pedal on our boards :)

I really want a Sparkle Motion.. but between the regular Fuck, the mini, and a Driving Notion, I think I have those sounds kinda covered... maybe.. maybe.
Good deals with: PumpkinPieces, maz91379, allicio, nelsinian, tomlane95, casperh7, insubordination, bronzetalon

Wow, you must have impeccable taste!

I basically just use the Sparkle Motion to add a bit of volume and definition at certain points during songs (which it excels at), you can get close enough to most settings using a mini with the gain rolled back though.
I've actually been super interested in the Driving Notion lately, what do you think of it?

I absolutely recommend it, it's in my top five never-sell pedals; And that's a tough list!

My only regret is not getting one sooner. I cant post some more thoughts re tones / settings / uses when I get home from work later tonight.

Seriously though, it's awesome.

Xero DLX is absolutely incredible, huge range of subtle to extreme filter sounds and the clean blend and expression input are super useful.
That does come at a price though, it is a massive pain in the ass to tweak. When i first got it i probably destroyed a good portion of my hearing from setting the resonance too high
I play guitar, but it would work at least as well if not better on bass.

march briefcase board

probably going to do double time as an acoustic board for some stuff
FZ-2 is awesome as a fuzz and I will just switch it over to a boost for acoustic stuff
Not able to use a flanger in any way that doesn't sound kindof cheesey so I may be swapping it for a chorus
