All going well, I'll add a Baby Thundaa and an Arc Green Pi to this setup. First time I've ever had issues with USPS shipping but seeing there are two missing, I'm hoping its just delays. Can't see the Valvedrive fitting on my board and it probably will be overkill now. Eventually I'll get rid of some dirt that doesn't gel as well with the Meatsmoke and maybe add a phaser.
ea 4096 and echorec combo probably sounds cray, niice

You ain't kidding... holy fuckballs is that thing massive
It really puts it in perspective seeing it next to everything else. DAYUM.
Yeah, but, is sound commensurate to size? (TWSS)

Dirt is already compressing your signal a fair bit. Unless you're going for that WOAH, COMPRESSION! effect then I don't think it'll add much.
True, but Dirt is clipping the transients, while compressors are useful for taming them and "beefing up" your base tone+sustain while maintaining its clean character.
Thanks, guys. Yeah, what I'm looking for is more sustain when playing slide without adding too much more gain. I, also, want my harmonics to pop. (TWSS)

Oof, need to figure out how to get the ditto on the board. I suppose the most expendable thing is probably the compressor, but it sounds so nice.

Get a comp with a clean blend in that case, so you don't jiggerize your attack. I've got a little Guyatone ST-2 which does that and it's a great feature. The dude from some shit band who everyone loves (I have a great memory) runs a compressor after his 65 different tubescreamers. Could be interesting.
I mostly use a compressor on clean swells to max the crap out of the sustain, so I'm pretty noobish when it comes to any form of compression that doesn't have all knobs maxed.

Chankz, you should watch some Madbean Afterlife demos. It's my go-to compressor because it doesn't really add gain or coloration, just an elevation of harmonics and details without being super squishy (cause I hate that shit, twss)

Dude, I flipping love my dirge comp it doesn't have a ton of squish but it sounds great
I was using an ibanez compressor 2 which is super squishy and will keep using that on more acoustic and clean type stuff
but the dirge made the main board
I have tried
MXR Dynacomp
Empress
Keeley
Barge Concepts (RC2)
Soul Preacher
Boss
They were all good in their own right
The barge got closest to my vintage ibanez
and the empress was pretty good at being subtle but pretty overpriced for what I use a comp for
keeley sounded great but was hard to dial in because it is silver and has the most blinding LED ever
It was really frustrating to use because you almost had to dial it, turn it on, listen, turn it off, and tweak it so you had any idea
when I got a good offer to unload it for something cooler (fuzz probe I think) I jumped on it

the "pipebomb" is an A/B looper, the right switch toggles between A - Metal Muff and Noisegate, and B - Turpisoris
the round one is a Turpisoris (Uglyface)
a mate built the insides, and I housed them, the Turpisoris is in a lamp base, and the pipe bomb is in a lampshade

Thanks, been eyeing the Barber Tone Press. Just say "Yes" to parallel compression.
I like compressors as an effect too. So, it'd be nice if I could find one that does both things well.

Thank you, sir, I'll check out some demos. (I think you're just trying to get me to watch your videos. The only demos are by you and some nerdy guy.) Maybe I'll have you build me one after you've settled back from your honeymoon.
