I've been super disconnected from anime lately as a result of there being 15673 different streaming services. Also anime culture as a whole has shifted to a more "seasonal" sort of view in which shows from previous seasons didn't get any coverage. It's hard to keep up nowadays.
That's the Whale I know! Fly on you marvelous beast!
This is the thing I am most looking forward to in 2020. Uzumaki has a really close place in my heart. Came at a time in my life I don't recall being "great" but look back on fondly.
Robot Carnival is on prime now...

1987. Damn. I think the first time I saw this was probably around 1990, rented from a blockbuster video store. It set my bar for good anime pretty high and pretty early into the whole explosion.

Also re-binged FLCL and Paranoia Agent recently
If you like those two watch Tatami Galaxy, same chaotic energy and high quality.

Oh hell yeah to all of this! Haven't watched anime in ages, but all of these are favourites of mine.

Definitely. It was probably you who recommended this to me a couple of years ago, actually.
OK downloading Tatami Galaxy, and s2 of Attack On Titan.
Robot Carnival was steampunk before there was really any such thing...earliest appearance of it I can think of for sure.
Awesome audio in this: Distorted drums, field recordings, moar DX7, all kinds of great synth noise.

Masaki Yuasa is directing a new series, based on a really great manga. I'm really excited to watch this to the point where I resubbed to Crunchyroll for it.
Other than that I'm rewatching Eureka Seven, which is one of my comfort food anime. What are ya'll watching, my fellow fuzzweebs?
