Just found out about this PCB wiring in new Gibson guitars. I had to vent so I vented on their FB wall. So annoyed with the fact I will have to buy pots and wire to install new pickups when I get them. Fucking unreal.

It's so fucking annoying. We had to rip out all of the electronics in my LP and replace it with BK stuff.

If I would have known this prior to purchase I never would have bought it. Such a fucked up way to go about building guitars to cut corners on shit like that.

Friend of mine has been trying to sell a bunch of the clips for attaching to the board if you want some? He had to order more than he needed from the only place he could find them.

my main amp is a Laney VC30 2x12. it kills...i've played at get-togethers where people were paying through $2500 boutique amps and my girl sounded better than them all. except maybe for the guy who used a blackface Bassman head into a Voice of the Theatre PA cab.
I had the LC30 combo for ages but I've since converted it to a head and our guitarist uses it all the time, sounds amazing through a 70s Goodmans Audiom loaded Marshall..

Thanks for the offer but I am gutting it when I have the money for the pickups and pots. I don't want that shit in my guitar,

I have one dual humbucker guitar with what sounds like an out of phase middle position that's really nice but it's also great on multi-volume guitars to have that in phase middle position where you can go full volume bridge and then just mix in a bit of neck to taste.
Would be great to have neck, coil tap neck, both out of phase, both in phase, bridge only. Those plus maybe an occasional single coil or P90 bridge sound are the main settings I end up using on a regular basis.

if I can find long shaft push pull pots that are no Alpha I will get some good modes in there. Else I will just do normal wiring.

Bolt Thrower, Bongzilla, and EW were the first stoner/doom-esque bands I got into.... way back in the summer of '98.... I still keep BT's complete discography on my iPod. Every once in a while I get a craving for them.
Did anyone else have a crush on Jo Bench?
I remember seeing them when they toured australia back in the early 90's, they played at pub in Sydney called Coogee bay hotel...a dive of a bar...a few years underage, best gig ever!
During the gig someone threw a bottle of beer at Jo, it hit he on the shoulder...she picked it up...looked back at the crowd and threw back in to the pit...I was in Love!

I was fortunate in that i bought mine used three years ago, and thus got the low-frequency greenback Celestions rather than the speakers they're using now, which IIRC are Italian Jensens.

OK doomroom bros, I'm thinking about putting the v4 in the closet for now. It's had reliability issues (shit on me twice live) and while it's been OK thus far, it gave me a scare last night. I just don't want to gig out with something that isn't crazy reliable. Plus, it has 99999 tubes, and retubing is a pricey pain in the ass. If I have to, I'll sell the v4, but I'd like to hold onto it for now.
So, looking for a tube head (preferably 100w) under 700ish dollars. I totally missed out on a bassman 135 on ebay for 390

I'll be running it into an Orange 4x12 and pairing it with a Sunn Beta into another Orange 4x12. Suggestions? Folks looking to sell? GO.
